Spent 3 nights at Grand Hyatt. Hotel was great, ideally located close to Union Square. Our room overlooked the city. Hotel was modern, clean & staff were generally friendly and helpful.

View from the gym on 35th floor makes the running machine way more interesting! Comfortable beds, good room size, helpful staff and convenient coffee/food concession on the lobby level. Only real gripes were TV didn't link consistently to phone for Netflix casting when we were resting in between trips and the cleaning ladies persisted in shouting and clashing around outside when we left do not disturb signs on door, I think they must have the most hoovered corridors in San Francisco!

Great location, and nice view. Room service to be avoided!! Tried it twice and both time I was made to be sick and it arrived it what I can only say is a takeaway bag!! Staff were helpful but room was dated and a number of issues including lights and blinds not working which were not fixed for the 10 days I was staying. After chasing three times for them to be fixed I gave up and made do! Normally you are asked when you check out, how was your stay but I just got a print out and a bye. Asked if I can get a car to the airport and was told no as my account was now closed. I would need to find a different way.

The Location and attentiveness of almost every member of staff we encountered was excellent. We stayed in a club room which gave access to the Grand Club. Both the room and club did the job but were functional and underwhelming in every way. Nonetheless we would absolutely revisit.

Give this a miss ....
Was greeted at the hotel with a $25 / night surcharge for, basically, bottled water and lousy WiFi. So that immediately annoyed me as it’s a bogus charge. I complained and to their credit, they waived the fee. If you are going to stay here, the first thing you should do is refuse to pay. It’s just a nasty way of lowering the price on hotels.com - don’t accept it. As for the hotel: it’s very dated, rooms are sparse with no luxuries at all (I had to ask for a robe), bath too shallow to bathe in, hard bed, staff clearly hate their job, and the lifts are simply appalling . By far the worst Hyatt I’ve ever stayed it.

Good location ...few comments
In general a good hotel , staff and location are great . I flew in early morning and got into my room 11.30 pm , the lifts were really noisey as the room was to rear of the shafts , I spoke with a fellow guest the following morning and they said the same . Really busy trip so decided not to bother changing rooms , I would stay again but I would make sure I get a room as far from the lifts as possible . Food is basic and more of a snack .
