Dirty hotel
The room was so disgustingly dirty that we asked to change the room, only to go to one that is just as dirty. 1- dirty towels in the room 2- socks left from the previous guest found behind the tv 3- hair in the shower 4- dead insects in the bathroom 5- when we were checking into our room, there were plates left infront of our room from the last guest. Someone from housekeeping moved it across the hallway, but kept it on the floor. Two days later, the plates were still there. All in all, the cleanliness was so disgusting that we wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, especially not with a 425 dollar a night price tag.

TWO NIGHTS AT THE BARCLAY
This is an excellent hotel and we might stay here again but we found two negatives. One, the "resort fee" is just a way of extracting more money from you and does not really give you any usable benefit. Two, the breakfast arrangements are poor and the price expensive. The breakfast area is a tight little space behind the bar and quite inadequate. The breakfast offering is below par. The "continental" is nothing like a continental and the full breakfast rather limited in scope. The coffee was tepid and very weak (this is the USA - coffee rules). The servers did their best but seemed to get confused now and then. Overall this is a very good hotel in a good location. The desk staff were very friendly and when we needed more towels they appeared within minutes. Management was on patrol upstairs - very impressive - and the room and bathroom were immaculate. We had a good size room by Manhatten standards, a decent safe and excellent bed linen. The TV could do with an upgrade but adequate.

Classy rooms, great location
Extremely comfortable and well appointed rooms make this an ideal hotel choice in Midtown Manhattan. Very conveniently located to explore Midtown and Uptown New York, with easy access to downtown New York via the subway (nearest station a five minute walk). Did not eat at the hotel, quite pricey, but daily breakfast had at the excellent Pershing Square Diner/restaurant on 42nd Street opposite the entrance to Grand Central Station.

A very nice intercontinental hotel in a mid-town location that is very ideally located for sightseeing. The room was also surprisingly large for a Manhattan property, and overall the property looks great after a refurbishment a couple years ago - the style of classic luxury with a few creative splashes like the Hudson Bay murals on the guest room wall suit my hotel style preference. Service was also very friendly all round. I would have no doubts about recommending this property to friends and family.

Really nice hotel but expensive breakfast
Great hotel, really good condition and a nice atmosphere. The gin bar is great with good live background music in the week. Breakfast was excellent, but pricy - $40 basic per head - $115 inc tips for a couple! Eat breakfast elsewhere.
