InterContinental Carlton Cannes
Mostly great
Best part of hotel is the outdoor area by the sea. The interior is outdated and more importantly in great need to interior repairs. Otherwise a top hotel as expected from this grand hotel.

Overrated tat
I'm not sure how much longer I can put up with overrated French rubbish. Nice location and grand facade, but underlying that is an ageing building desperately in need of refurbishment, woeful customer service and pricing and policies that just tell the guest to f off. My room was tiny and had no accessible power sockets, the air con didn't work so I had to move rooms (the audacity asking seemed to annoy the staff). Breakfast is a laughable €42 but is as average as any breakfast in a chain 4 star hotel. I'm happy to pay €42 for breakfast but put some effort in so it feels slightly worth it. Internet access is another joke - €200 a day for the same speed your cellphone can get. Oh and don't expect any complimentary coffee in the room. Despite the Nespresso machine, it's €4 for any capsules! To me, all this is the equivalent of the management pinching me and the face and calling me sub-human scum everytime I enter the lobby. Just charge whatever you need for the room rate, so when I arrive as a guest I don't feel violated every corner I turn in the hotel.

Great Hotel - Excellent Staff - Impressed
Room not ready due to computer malfunction but the staff were very professional and directed us to the terrace with complimentary drinks whilst we waited.

Cozy but lacks that little something extra
This is an old medieval village and incredibly lovely. It takes a good 5-7 minutes walk up to the hotel so the porters work is hard and worth a tip! Check in went smoothly and we were shown to the room promptly. The room was a standard double split over two levels and I think it was more than adequate. It has some sea view and I understand the suites have a full sea view but I didn't think it was necessary for us as the outdoor terrace was wonderful. We ate in the Michelin star restaurant and service was impeccable. We had the set menu at €120 pp and it was good but I've had better at other Michelin restaurants. It wasn't that the food wasn't high quality and well prepared rather that some dishes on the menu weren't to my liking. Would still strongly recommend. Good nights sleep in the room so no complaints there. Breakfast was really good but unfortunately the service was not. It just seemed like they were too tired and not interested. All in all a great little hotel which I would stay at again but it's missing that little extra that you are used to at a Small Luxury Hotel.
