    The hotel wasn’t as great as I’d hoped - certainly stayed in better for less.

    Staff Too cool for school
    Staff were rude and disinterested in their guests. They all strut around the hotel but are unhelpful when you need anything. When we checked in at 11 PM they wouldn’t help us locate a bottle of water after a long journey. There was no room service menu in my room and they wouldn’t answer the phone so I walked to the bar. I received a blank stare from the hipster style Barman. When the food arrived it was handed to me at the door without any smiles or courtesy. Be aware. Most of the rooms overlook the outside bar. It is noisy until about midnight so if you’re hoping for an early night then you will be disturbed. After all the other little things I didn’t have the energy to ask staff to change rooms. I should have as the noise was very disturbing. I admit the pictures look good on the website but the atmosphere of the hotel is not so glossy. I’m a regular traveller and wouldn’t normally review a hotel but I have done on this occasion in the interests of my fellow travellers. I wish I knew!

    Smart D.C. Hotel
    We only stayed a few nights at the Mason & Rook at the end of our US trip, but wished it could have been longer. Smart, comfortable, modern hotel close to the heart of D.C.; great service, clean rooms & a nice bar area. We’d certainly stay again.

    Amazing hotel in amazing location. Beautiful rooms, and I mean truely stunning. Would recommend. Only slight downside no tea or coffee in room and roof top oool was closed due to season despite being over 80F

    Great Location but current renovation not worth it
    Overall - location was great...beds were not that comfortable and each morning we were awakened by hammering and construction at 730AM due to their renovations. Also we were charged $25 a day for hotel amenities yet the amenities were all closed due to the renovation of the hotel

    Great Hotel. Not Great Service
    It’s tough because the hotel was under construction when I went. Knowing that, I understood there were certain amenities that I could not enjoy but I was ok with that. I also did not realize prior to my booking that DC does not allow rooftop access during the winter season. I must admit that I would not have likely booked at that particular hotel had i known about the construction and rooftop limitations. So I had to accept that prior to checking in. Honestly, from there, I was disappointed with the service I received and even minor issues with the room. It’s too long of a story to type but the blinds were broken, the light switch plate was not screwed in and one of the lamps did not work. There was also an issue with the reservation.
