Very good 8.0
Fabulous Six Senses property in Singapore
Good location and in a lovingly restored row of shophouses. Definitely go for a larger room; we were in the Opium room and that was a squeeze. Check out the local area - tiong bahru estate is a gem. Staff are great and the breakfast is delicious - a la carte not a bog standard buffet.

Exceptional 10.0
Very cool hotel. Wonderful bed sheet, very friendly and accommodating staff. Centrally located with lost of great restaurants within walking distance. China town is just a quick 3-4 block walk.

Can you say small rooms?
The rooms are a size of a typical closet. Probably would never stay here again given the choices in Singapore.

Uncomfortable stay in the shophouse room
Several things about the room made it a pretty uncomfortable sleeping experience. We were in a "shophouse" room. 1) there was a bright LED in the ceiling pointed down that was on all night, presumably a smoke alarm. 2) A/C in the room was impossible to balance: a change of one degree made it boiling or freezing 3) Not enough fresh airflow to the room meant air stayed stale and really dry. We had dry painful throats every morning 4) the pillows were a joke: they had absolutely no support, and my wife eventually ended up using a towel from the bathroom instead (the night staff member was very kind and got us a firmer pillow, but that pillow was absurdly tall) We did not sleep well. The staff was fine but nothing special. Hotel priorities seemed to be looks over everything else (and it was beautiful and nicely decorated, and clean). Would not stay again.
