Avoid the Sleep Inn at Six Flags over Texas
Upon arrival, we were excited about the proximity of Six Flags and Cowboy stadium, that excitement was quickly quashed upon finding a cockroach in the first room given to us. Our second room was just as small, contained only a shower and the "sliding" door to the bathroom would only close halfway, if you're an optimistic personified only open halfway. The third small room we were given again only had a shower and thankfully had neither a broken door or any cockroaches (that we could see). Unfortunately, the climate controls didn't work and we unfortunately woke up around 3 am to a room that was a balmy 82 degrees and wouldn't adjust lower. We were informed it would be a day or two before Maintainence could repair and they had no other rooms due to the Cotton Bowl. The day before we left, I chose to resolve these problems with the front desk employees, unfortunately, they appear to be very proud of the establishment that they run and proceeded to verbally attack my wife and I for having the nerve to complain and "yell" about about our desire to sleep in a room that isn't infested, has working doors and stays the desired temperature. After this stay, I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't promote or sell any rooms that belong to Choice Hotels family of companies. I know that is a long shot, but if it saves one families vacation, it is worth it. It is too bad our reservation was non-refundable, or we would've left.

Pros: The location is great, right next to the ballparks (Uber, don’t walk) and Six Flags. A+ for that. Parking is free. The included breakfast was really good, too; an employee was there at all times refilling the eggs and waffle batter. There is a great restaurant, Humperdinks, is walking distance, right across the parking lot, actually; really good drink deals. The daytime staff was great, very helpful. A/c worked great in the heat. Cons: We checked in with the night guy (had a beard, no name tag). He never smiled. I asked for a rollaway bed. When I booked the room, it said I could rent one for $10. He said he had none available and it wouldn’t fit in room anyway. He obviously thought I was trying to cram more people in the room. I just didn’t want my two kids fighting while sharing a bed. So alas, one parent and one kid per bed. Whatever... so when we got to the room, the bathroom door (a pocket door) was literally hanging from one hinge, with the broken hardware on the sink. We requested a new room with working door. The night guy mumbled something about being charged for damages, but when asked what he said, he replied “nothing”. (I verified at checkout that I would NOT be charged for something already broken). Got to new room. It was fine, but this room had weird perfume smell and the a/c (which was thankfully putting out cold air) was pretty loud. Smell was tolerable and the a/c was kind of like white noise, so it worked out. FYI there is NO BATHTUB.

Please go somewhere else
I have stayed at this hotel about a year ago several times so I though nothing about reserving a room here with my son - it is so close to Six Flags. The rooms look nice. Front desk is nice when you check in. However, after a long day I wanted to take a shower noticed some baby roaches in the towels.. still willing to go on about my day... woke up at 8 am to big roaches on my ceiling over the beds... so grossed out. I than began itching and had big welps on my legs and body. All I wanted to do was shower and leave - got a towel down and was flooded with roached -YUCK!! When I showed the front desk pictures - legit pictures where you could see it was their hotel - she said there was nothing she could do since I booked thru hotels. com and said the manager would call me - ya nothing. I was so grossed out I couldn't and wouldn't allow my son to eat breakfast there so that was an additional expense I had to pay. I will never EVER stay here again. I don't usually say so many bad things about a place but this place was a huge disappointment.

There was a weird sticky film on the carpet....have never walked on a carpet that felt like that before. Other reviews mentioned a weird smell but I didn't notice that. Our second night I noticed blood on the comforter....not washed stained blood...fresh blood. Like someone had shaved their legs and bled all over the comforter. ..they changed it immediately. If your job is to make that bed I can't explain how you would not have noticed that pulling up the bedspread. There was blood on the lamp shade and the bathroom walls could have used a 4 minute wipe down. The location is good, staff were friendly but the rooms just needed more attention as far as cleanliness. I want to be clear I'm not a fussy person but this stuff seems pretty basic when you are a part of the service industry. Again staff were great. At 530 am as we were checking out the desk person asked us if he could get us a coffee, muffin or a yogurt as it was before breakfast opened. I thought that was great service. The breakfast that was offered every morning was really good. I'm not writing this hotel off just that the housekeepers could step it up. Maye they aren't given a lot of time to complete their tasks...I don't know...but it would have changed my entire review.

Great location, room needs a little work
Stayed here with my family for one night for a short little vacation that included Hurricane Harbor, Six Flags and a Rangers game. The hotel was in a great location for all these activities and several eating establishments. We didn't have to drive far to any of our destinations, which was great. View from the room was pretty cool, we could watch some of the rides at Six Flags running. The bed wasn't fantastic but was better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in, but I have a bad back so I'm pretty particular about mattresses. The room was clean but not in the best shape. The bathroom had a sliding door with a shallow "handle" that I could barely use and wouldn't fully close, so forget about locking it. A 1-inch gap feels like it's a foot wide when you're trying not to scar your two teenage children for life while getting into the shower. Several of the lights/lamps in the room didn't work and one CFL light bulb by the beds didn't fully go off and lightly blinked all night. It wasn't bright enough to keep anyone awake, but still kinda weird. Hopefully, this was just our room and the rest of the rooms are in better shape. All it would take is a little maintenance to get that room fixed up.
