The entire check in process was a mess. We came to our room which had no phone (needed to call downstairs to valet as they don’t offer self park-area had terrible service for cell reception so they couldn’t hear me when I did call), the tv was not plugged in, no remote for the tv, there was no luggage rack. The faucet in the bathroom sink was leaking so the towels they had left on the counter were dripping wet. The toilet seat cover was dirty. They advertised for water near the ice machine but the water was very foamy. When we reported this, they said the construction workers just left the week prior. If they were not ready, they shouldn’t have start booking or move us to a different area/room. We called several times but they did not bring everything we asked for. Even at check out, they charged us for resort fee even though there was no pool. Brought this up to the manager and they removed the fee but did not offer any compensation for the other missing items/inconvenience. We would not be staying here in the future.

Decent hotel not so nice area
The hotel wasn’t bad but it is a little outdated and is the middle of a remodel. Amenities like the pool and gym were closed as well. So it was a little dirty and the construction was taking place right above our room. Luckily we were out most of the day so the noise wasn’t a huge deal. The area around the hotel though has a very large homeless population that will beg and follow you aggressively if you don’t give them something. Had the same guy follow me 2 days in a row. Also the nasty smell of weed is everywhere down there. That area and the Venice boardwalk have really gone downhill over the past couple of years. Go up a few blocks and it gets much better.
