    Okay

Simply, I stayed over night and I don’t recommend it for more than that. The staff was friendly.

    No Frills but good.

The parking was a little frustrating but the hotel was adequate. It was no-frills but served the purpose. Great location to Pitt which is why we picked it.

    good hotel...HORRIBLE PARKING!

good hotel and location, HORRIBLE PARKING!. room was good for the price, not top of the line, but definetly reasonable. on the university of pitt campus, downtown about a 10 min drive and 20 min bus ride. my only complaint is the parking. about 60 spaces for 100 rooms! street parking was ok, but filled up quick because of the campus

    Did not meet our expectations

This hotel was conveniently located near the universities we visited while in Pittsburgh, and the staff we met were generally pretty nice. This facility did not meet our expectations, however. Parking was scarce, our room phone did not work, and there were stains on the carpet and on the desk chair in our room. They didn't clean rooms in the hotel each day, they said because of Covid, but they didn't make this clear beforehand, so we had to wonder why we didn't get refills on the coffee service or fresh towels. We then had to ask for things and then go to get them ourselves. If there had been a notification in the room, it would have saved us time and effort and we would have hung the previous day's towels to dry - but since our room phone didn't work, we ended up calling from our cell phones or making the trek down to the lobby. This hotel also advertised a breakfast service, which other hotels have begun to offer in person, but it was not offered, again they said - because of Covid. Once again, a note in the hotel's online profile was warranted; it is misleading to allow people to think there will be a breakfast service, only to have them find out there is not, after they have already checked in. We'll explore other options next time we're in Pittsburgh.

    Weekend at the Wyndam

We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham. The room was clean and it is in a great location. The front desk staff were very friendly.

    Misleading website, clean room.

Parking is $29 a night with only a few spaces for tall vehicles. House keeping happens every three days but the front desk will give you more towels, trash bags, and a laundry basket for dirty towels. I put trash and towels in the hall and they were picked up. I’m guessing because of covid, the restaurant was not open for breakfast but the site said they offer breakfast. Also, no coffee options except the coffee maker in the room but coffee shops are a close walk. You could never get in touch with the actual front desk (unless physically standing there), only the reservation center and they couldn’t transfer you. The room was clean and staff were nice.

Be ready to pay $29 a day for parking. They don’t tell you this until you get your final bill. We were only parked there at night too.

    Large Group Issues

Hotel is a nice property in a good location, but was the site for a large group event that: 1) Attendees thought gave them the right to behave as if on a Carnival cruise, adults sitting down stairs drinking, their kids running wild in the halls until 12:30 at night (child abandonment). 2) Constantly had the restaurant closed for private events. Why don't hotels make an effort to isolate such groups from other travelers who just want to eat and sleep in comfort (you know, what an expensive hotel is supposed to provide), but this one didn't. Personally think hotels should be forced to reveal to other guests when they are hosting such groups so that travelers may make the prudent decision to stay elsewhere - maybe that would force hotels to isolate groups and make clear to groups that the hotel is not there just for them.
