About this apartment

Unique period charm with an eclectic style. Large 2bdrm flat with original Victorian features, on quiet leafy street in heart of Glasgow’s West End. Restaurants, cafes, museums and transport links within 5min walk. Can be booked for location and photo shoots with prior permission. Featured in Brompton Cycles, also can be seen in Outlander. I may be biased but I love the flat, it has such a warm peaceful ambience. People who visit tell me they love it and are intrigued by her unique pieces. (I don’t think the pics do her justice.) I’ve spent the last 4 years renovating this lovely home, discovering and restoring her history and secrets, it was a labour of love and learning - most of my pals thought I was insane (they’re probably right). But I saved original Victorian wallpaper pieces, found a 100yr old drawing on the living room wall, painstakingly stripped wood panels back to original, replaced the huge windows back to sash and case, restored the fireplaces and ornate cornices. Then I had fun filling it with Persian rugs, vintage finds and unique treasures from my travels and life; copper and brass antiques, Maasai and African tribe artefacts, iconic BBC pictures I saved out of TeleVision Centre London before it closed and a claw foot bath & cast iron radiators from 80s band Wet Wet Wet’s mansion. I’m not finished, but then I probably never will, but for now I have to travel a bit for work, so I invite you to come and enjoy my peaceful haven. I love this flat, I hope you do too, please look after her for me and treat her with the respect an old Victorian dame deserves. The Details Bedrooms - 2 large bedrooms each with a king size bed, one firm, one medium mattress. Persian rugs, wardrobes, lamps, mirrors, a hairdryer and large windows out to leafy outlook. Bathroom - Large roll top cast iron bath for luxurious soaks watching the stars through the facing window, as well as a separate rain shower with azure hand glazed tiles. Kitchen – Eclectic kitchen with sun facing window seat. Large dual fuel double over range cooker, fridge/ freezer, filtered water tap, toaster, kettle, cafetière, citrus juicer, hand blender, baking pans, cutlery, crockery, glasses etc., cookbooks and everything you need for a snack or gourmet dinner. As well as a washing machine, dishwasher, Clothes airer pulley, iron/ironing board (no microwave, never liked what they did to food, but the gas stovetop heats things quickly and doesn’t turn it to mush) Lounge - A peaceful room to contemplate the leafy view with a cup of tea or glass of wine on the large leather chesterfield sofa and footstool, or the oversize arm chair, slate fireplace (not open for fires), huge ornate mirror and unique historical artwork. Candles available but watch candles mark slate, but there’s coasters to place them on. (no TV - TVs so old fashioned, enjoy the peaceful ambiance.) Entrance – You’ll notice the gorgeous original Victorian mosaic tile entrance and painted glass front door, the only one remaining in the building….(it’s s little bit fragile so watch goods coming in and out or that the door doesn’t slam, ). Fabulous wooden outer doors (called storm doors in Glasgow). Remember to lock and bolted them when you’re out or at night for your safety and the glass door.
