A lovely Hotel in a superb location. Very comfortable, modern and clean. Great staff.
Fabulous and friendly hotel. The location is perfect near to Galleria mall and local transport to all locations. Rooms a extremely comfortable with lovely views. Staff are all fantastic. Will stay again when in the area.
Pool too small. Had to change room due to noise coming through interconnecting door. Still waiting for final charges to my Visa card. Suspect they have overcharged for laundry, maybe converted currency at wrong rate. Room rate according to Sonesta directory includes two beach chairs and towels, pool, gym, upgraded internet , two small bottles of water for room tea/coffee machine. However they insist on charging extra for this (£200 + for a week) but can you get a room at advertised rate? No a con. Will never visit USA again.
The compulsory $35 resort fee per night giving us 'complimentary' in-room coffee maker, one cocktail, & a beach towel was a total rip-off. I realise this seems to be common practice in the US but it still makes a big difference to your quoted per night price. Then there were the city & state taxes.... turned into an expensive stay! Breakfast wasn't included in our rate either & at $19 isn't cheap. There are a couple of restaurants/cafes close by instead but they charge beach prices so not much cheaper. The bar area is in the lobby which feels like the Arctic they've got the a/c so high. They're refurbishing the restaurant & bar area but I spoke to someone who said this was the case when they stayed here a year ago. The room we had on the 9th floor was superb in terms of the view: a panoramic window looking out onto the ocean with the most amazing view of sunrise. However, we had adjoining doors to rooms either side and so this made for quite a lot of noise from our neighbours which isn't what you expect for this price & rating of hotel. Bed was large and comfy but the duvet/comforter was far too hot for the Florida weather. Bath products were lovely, gorgeous smell but not always replenished. As far as location, the Sonesta is a minute's walk from the beach and away from the busy main drag of Ft Lauderdale. Very handy to have the bikes to rent right outside the hotel, we used these to cycle to Las Olas.
Very enjoyable stay. Lovely room with fantastic views. Shame the pool was closed
we were given a fantastic room with floor to ceiling window and a great view of the ocean from the room (1018) The staff were brilliant and the complimentary extras were much appreciated
Absolutely amazing hotel in the most wonderful location. We had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows and the view on emerging the room was breathtaking. Breakfast buffet was first class and all staff friendly and eager to help. I would gladly stay here for an extended period. Just across the road from the beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach where the hotel provide towels and sun loungers. Close to shopping, restaurants a state park and bonnet house museum. Caught bus across road from hotel to very large outlet shops about 45 mins away.
Suzette welcomed my wife and I with open arms and truly made this a one of a kind experience!
Views from room (ocean curved) overlooking the beach and park were fantastic. Disappointing to find out about renovations taking place by the pool only after we had booked. A little bit out of the way of the nice restaurants in Las Olas - a 10-15 minute drive away. Two free sun beds at the beach included in resort fee, although it would have been good to have the umbrella included which costed $20 each day. Evelyn on reception was brilliant - gave us lots of helpful information about the local area and booked us onto a fantastic airboat trip.
My mum and I came here for a week before surprising my sister who was staying here for one night before flying back to the UK and we could not have faulted our stay at all! Everyone has been so helpful we getting things booked to helping with the surprise. The hotel is very modern and clean and has stunning views overlooking the beach and national park. Would definitely stay again.
