    1. Rooms need to be upgraded 2. Bath towels are the size of hand towels 3. I asked for 2 roll away beds and was only given 1, and was told that's all they had available. 4. I asked for extra towels since they were very small, extra pillows, and waited a very long time for them. 5. The beds were only made with a sheets, and a light blanket. There were no comforters or bed spreads, and it was in December. 6. The carpeting in the hallways were dirty. 7. The sliding glass door to the balcony was very hard to open and close. 8. No towels offered at the indoor pool. 9. There was one tiny bottle of shampoo, and one tiny facial bar of soap in the bathroom. There was no bath bar, lotion, or conditioner.

    Roaches at Howard Johnson Toms River

    This hotel has roaches. I was supposed to say from 9/19/2020 - 9/20/2020 but I ended up leaving the same night I checked in due to a roach crawling around. My family and I informed the front desk but they didn’t seem phased by it. Thank God my sister let me stay at her home after I called her in the middle of the night but the sad part is another roach got in my bag and ended up in my sister’s bathroom. Of course she was freaking out and I was embarrassed. I’ve never been on a hotel that has roaches. The hotel smelled like cigarettes even though all the door said non smoking. They advertise breakfast but that wasn’t true. This was my worse hotel experience. They didn’t have towels. I waited 45 mins to get towels and they weren’t soft or clean. They looked like a regular wash rag from someone’s home. Never again Howard Johnson by Wyndham Toms River. NEVER AGAIN. Oh their management denied my request for a refund.

    not so good

    The hotel is more like glorified motel. It has just been bought by Wyndham and they are trying to renovate it but it in a very sad condition. I got renovated room. No fridge no microwave. They had to bring them. Mattresses and pillows are awful I have to say.

    Just the facts.

    At check-in one of the people ( he had a beard) behind the counter didn't have a mask on. The Fridge was so loud we had to unplug it. The bed was like sleeping on a door with sheets. I have used water fountains that had more water pressure than the shower. We actually found a bag of weed on the floor by the dresser.

    I have always stayed at Howard Johnson in SC, this was a first in New Jersey. I was not disappointed at all. Clean hotel, everything worked as it should, friendly staff, no complaints!
