Maginificent Hotel Staff
Although the rooms are a little pricey (regarding the size of the hotel room), the hotel staff makes it worth the extra money spent! The on-site complementary amentities (hammocks, hydro pool, outdoor pool, beach chairs, steam room, fitness facility) were very well maintained and clean. Our hotel room was also upheld to a very clean standard. I can’t say enough about the service from the hotel staff. Upon arrival, they are formally prepared to help the guests feel warm, welcome, and at home. The eticate of the staff is beyond that of any 5 star hotel I’ve accompanied. The staff greets you and shows you around the hotel amentities upon arrival, and the baggage handler carries your luggage to your hotel room. The General Manager is a very hard worker, very professional, a great leader and it’s clear that he is doing an excellent job at staffing the hotel with competent team members. I would definitely stay here again in the future if the opportunity arises. The only cons are: No free parking ($42 valet parking is the only option). The rates are a bit pricey for the size of the room (although the staff makes up for it with their wonderful service & well maintained facility) - not to mention, the manager was very helpful in negotiating a lower rate after I decided to extend my stay for several days - keep in mind my stay was during one of Miami’s busiest seasons, and he did this out of the kindness of his heart. Overall, me and my wife are very satisfied with our stay...

Exceptional 10.0
hidden romantic relaxing charming getaway
The best part about this place is it's got everything: beach front, pool, pool bar with food, private large hydrotherapy pool on roof, full service spa, respectable seafood restaurant, porch for breakfast, hammocks, spacious rooms (some with balcony) and great location; most things are walkable but there is a free trolley that can take you around also. I got to stay in 3 different rooms (over 6 days) so I can say there is ALOT of variation in the rooms. The first room I stayed in with my husband was gorgeous with partial ocean view balcony. The view wasn't that great and the balcony was tight, but it was REALLY nice for private bubbly toast early in the morning. The second room I had was with a gf so we needed 2 beds (which were very close together) and the room was very tight (disclaimer, I purchased this room through points). The AC wasn't working so we had to move to another room (very late at night when we returned from being out and realized there was no air). We were quickly moved to another much larger 2 bed room with ocean view. The pool and hydrotherapy pool (giant hot tub) were almost always empty which was perfect for me. The pool bar didn't have much available from the menu--so would be smart to just ask the server what they have (although they may not know until after you order), the only consistently available item was the fish&chips (which were really good). They have a very interesting and delicious cucumber colada which you can make adult ;) Excellent service

Avoid this hotel at any cost
Please avoid COMO Miami hotel even it’s free otherwise you will ruin your vacation. We checked in on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday went fine but then on Monday the concert begun. The heavy construction is happening right next to the hotel. The building 10ft away is undergoing a major (MAJOR) renovation. The noise from working jackhammers right above your head was unbearable and it was going on from 9am till 4 pm with no stopping (I recorded 20 sec of it and hoping to upload it with my review). Yeah and the dust was all over (no one knows what kind of dust it was). In this kind of noise you can’t function therefore the swimming pool and restaurant outside tables are out of consideration. You can either go somewhere or stay inside your room. I tried to contact the general manager Henry Giovanni Scott and left a voicemail on his phone and I got no call back. Apparently, this is happening for a while, since the staff was avoiding any conversations regarding how long it was going on. For some reason when I booked this hotel there were no reviews regarding the noise, strange? Imagine this: You are extremely tired from work; you convinced your boss to give you a couple of days off so you could rest, or work remotely; you brought your dog to your father; you arrange everything at your work; purchased tickets, arrived to hotel and here is the surprise. I warned you!!

To begin, Orbitz does not inform its customers that the hotel requires a $400 hold be placed on a credit card, which is the hotel's preference although they are willing to accept cash if you are persistent. The charge will be reapplied to your card 7-8days after discharge, cash is presumably refunded upon check-out. The hotel gives the allusion of being pristine; trust me, it is all but that. The bathrooms are not well maintained probably due to the water pressure in the hotel. The water is very hot, which is a good thing--I imagine this helps with killing most bacteria that would otherwise overtake the place. The restaurant staff are magnificent; especially Lazaro who helped me with getting an item they do not regularly serve(egg whites with cheese). Moving on the housekeeping staff seek to be more than accommodating; especially I think her name is Marion (a nice woman of Haitian descent)--she tried her best to give the room a good smell; despite the fact that the trashcan in room 510 is broken, rusted, and beyond the ability to be cleaned. The front desk manager Jasmine (a woman of Spanish descent) has the worst customer skills EVER!!! Not only did she run our card while we were deciding to use cash; but she actually had the unmitigated gall to say she could not interrupt the transaction and that we would have to use the card. hummm false, we all know the charges could have been immediately reversed. Hey Jasmin we are still waiting for you to set up our jetboat ride!

Good 6.0
The hotel is not what you would expect when you think of a 5 star hotel. In terms of perception, it felt like a three or maybe four star hotel. Granted, I don't know exactly how the star rating works with hotels, but when I stayed at other 5 star hotels I had a feeling of "wow." This hotel is not that. It's a nice hotel by the beach with a nice pool. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. The staff was great, the hotel was clean, its in a good area, and its right by the beach. What was not so great is that it was pricer than what I would of liked to pay for the offerings. Granted it is South Beach and I believe South Beach is overpriced in general - I live in NYC and I spend quite a bit on higher end things, but I feel in NYC you pay for what you get most of the time, whereas in South Beach I feel many things are overpriced for the sake of being expensive. Anyway, parking was 43 dollars a night, there are some weird 'resort' fees (this is true of all hotels in South Beach) that are applied in addition to the regular hotel price, the food was only ok but pricey, and lastly beach chairs are free but if you want an umbrella it's an extra $27, which is absurd to me and makes it feel like they're trying to nickel and dime you. All in all it was a good hotel but not something that was memorable, apart from the staff.
