Had a lovely time staff were fantastic, best place to eat Roys Beach Bar .
Slow check in, and very poor info given by the check in person. The first room they gave me had mould and smelled terrible, I complained, it took about 30 minutes for them to acknowledge and give me another one. The amenities are good, nice pools, choice of restaurants, in a good location for morning beach trails. Dissapointed there were no turtles!
Great place, with lots to do. Very expensive though and the beach isn’t great. Definitely worth a visit; we only stayed for 2 nights, which was perfect.
We rented a cottage on the beach, the property was very large and with a fabulous view, the beach was not suitable for swimming but lovely for walks leading up to the lovelier Wakeka bay where we saw a turtle. Coming back to the room, the beds were very comfy, the shower was amazing as was the bath (I just had to try it), when in the room, we spent most of our time on the terrace looking at the wonderful view and sunset in the evening.
Stunning hotels with stunning views, but you're treated like a customer. Everything costs extra (even Parking), despite them charging a resort fee of around $50 per night. If you're not planning on spending $18 for a cocktail or $80 for a steak several times a day, it's a nice base to use to go and check out the local restaurants/food trucks and see the local surroundings. But if you're planning on staying in and having a relaxing holiday, you can expect to pay double what your room rate is on the resort fee, parking, food and drink (even buffet breakfast starts at >$20 per person, per day)
Fantastic location and nice resort hotel, stayed here over 20 years ago with our kids and it was great to return.
Cottages are well decorated with great views of the ocean and sunsets.
Great location. Very expensive and not very good value. Rooms very basic and service was not as good as expected. Resort fee is very high and is a bit of a farce. It basically covers wifi access, tea and coffee etc. All other hotels that I have stayed in do not charge extra for such basic amenities.
I was not impressed with the quality of room for the price. Our room smelled musty and everything was wet the whole time. The bed was hard. The staff wood walk right by without saying hi or smiling. I felt like for such an expensive fancy resort they should have been more friendly . The rooms were nothing fancy just like a normal hotel. The shower had mold in the grout. There is not much to do there so if you are planning on doing stuff plan on driving. Luckily there was lots to do by driving to towns :). ll the food was extremely over priced. It is a nice place to stay on the north shore I was just expecting a much nicer place for the price.
Everything was perfect from the start of our vacation to the end. Our room was large, with a very comfortable bed & pillows. The bathroom was huge! The location was perfect & the view was amazing!
