6/10 Good

OK but tired. A better pub than a place to stay.
It was OK - great service when I arrived and a really nice pub, but overall a very tired and not particularly clean or warm room. I had to park quite a way from the pub as well.

Bell Inn
Central heating wasn’t working but supplied with a electric radiator in room. Staff couldn’t do enough and cooked breakfast was very nice. Needed a little tlc, marks on carpet and some deep cleaning but overall a good stay

Would I stay again? Probably!
No on-site parking available. Only place available was on the road which is fairly narrow, near village duck pond. Room was OK but a bit tight for 3 people. Heating was not working throughout the pub, restaurant and bedrooms. But there was a small electric heater in the bedroom. Bathroom was too cold to take a shower. At dinner, one of our drinking glasses still had lipstick on the rim even though it had been washed. The "waiter" changed it and apologised. We discovered at 10.30 pm that a glass in the bedroom also had lipstick on it but too late to change. Evening meal was OK, so too was breakfast. Overall an *ok* stay.

We were disappointed to find that access to rooms was via an outside fire escape. As my wife has very limited mobility she did struggle with the stairs. We had asked for a ground floor room on booking but there was no mention that this was not possible as all rooms are up the fire escape!

Stayed over 1 night to avoid driving back to Leicester in the dark after spending the day with family in Witney and Ducklington. Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely fire in the bar. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice, and appreciated before our drive home to Leicester. Recommend both the pub and for overnight accommodation. Thank you

4/10 Fair

Stayed in room 6 where a boiler/generator roared away 24/7 making sleep impossible. When we mentioned this to the host in the morning we were informed that this is a constant noise and not caused by any malfunction in the system. Our advice, great pub, good host, but avoid staying in room 6.
