Great central location offering walking distance to sights and great restaurants. The hotel boasts a 3pm checkin for customers with reservations. We arrived with our friends at 5:30pm and our 2 rooms were not ready. We waited 30 minutes for them to prepare our room. Our friends we initially given a top floor room that is not accessible with the elevator, smaller room and steep narrow stairs to navigate. When the refused this room, they had a further hour wait for a different room to be prepared for them. Very frustrating start to our 3-night stay. Room had limited toiletries and towels were in an overused state with many holes. Wash cloths were not provided. We certainly understand that staying in downtown Amsterdam is not a cheap endeavour, however, our stay would have been much more pleasurable with a little attention to simple details.

Fair 4.0
Not impressed.
We were disappointed with the hotel. Would not rate it as a 4-star. I requested a king-size bed and we were given twin beds which came apart during the night, the sheets did not stay on the bed. The room was small, which was ok but the bathroom was tiny, to the point that you could not turn round in the shower. Everything below waist height in the bathroom got wet because the shower screen was not adequate. You could not even sit on the toilet without the toilet roll holder being in your face. You could not look straight into the mirror, you had to stand to one side because the hairdryer was in the way. The furniture in the room was damaged and very basic. Overall, very expensive for the standard of the room.

Very good 8.0

Location close to slot of touristy places McDonald’s, kfc next door. Tram stop in front of hotel. Next to Dam Square and national monument so millions of people and things going on during day. Staff very helpful. Restaurant was good too. Shower small for a larger person like me. Bed not so great. Otherwise furnishing of room and hotel nicely kept.

Good 6.0
Centrally located which is great along with the secure hotel with overall great staff. Charged me for 2 hours early arrival when no other place in Europe charged me with early check-in, they never give a second bath towel so I always had to call for one, the shower head broke although they fixed it right away, the toilet was completely uncomfortable being the toilet roll dispenser is right in your lap sticking out from the wall when they can move it to another place in the bathroom.

Average hotel with great location
Location is superb, right next to Dam square which is the main town square, lots of cafes and shops around it, all major attractions are within walking distance, i.e. say 2 km. But the rooms are neat and clean but very cramped and poorly designed, with no views of the beautiful surrounding. Over-priced because of the location. Food is okay but better to eat outside goven that local eateries have such wide choice.
