We arrived, after travelling for 2 hours, at the property for my birthday weekend (having booked the hotel months in advance) only to find that the hotel had double booked our room. They said that Expedia had switched us to a nearby hotel (not a reasonable distance from Westward Ho!)this was not true and in fact, overhearing the man talk to his superior on the phone, he said-‘give them Sally’s number she can sort them out’. The man then ignored us completely, as we stood with all our luggage in the bar area at a loss as what to do, turned the music up and began serving a customer drinks. With no other choice available (all hotels in Westward Ho! were fully booked) we turned around and drove the 2 hour trip back home, my birthday completely ruined. We booked the hotel as we had stayed there previously and had a brilliant stay but this was, unbeknown to us, when different owners had the hotel. Present service at the hotel could not have been more different than our previous stay- disgusting, unprofessional and unhelpful. Beware if you book this hotel- they will not honour your booking!
