Poor 2.0
Never Go Cheap on the Hotel
Our original room had a broken lock so we were not able to get in. They said they would move us to another room, and when the front desk lady took us to that room, there was already another guest in there. We then were told that we'd have to wait for the first room's lock to be fixed. This took about 30-45 minutes. Once we finally made it into the room, we noticed that it had not been cleaned or prepped at all for us: trash cans were full, two rooms keys sitting on the desk, no sheets on the bed, bed not made, no shower curtain. We paid for a room with a king bed and, because of the condition of the room, were moved to a room with 2 queens. This room had a toilet that would not flush, but by this point I was done dealing with anyone and we just dealt with it. We were never offered a refund or money back for not getting the room we paid for. When checking out, we signed up for IHG rewards so we could be given 10,000 bonus points and told that the GM would be reaching out. We missed the GM's initial call but returned it within 20 min. We did not have anyone answer the phone until the 4th time we called and the GM was not available. I left 2 voicemails for him to call me back on 4/17/19 and he did not. I called again on 4/18/19 and still could not get ahold of the GM. He finally called me back almost a hour later and said all he could offer was more bonus points. Why would I want points for a hotel chain that treats their customers this way? Never using IHG hotels again.

Poor 2.0
The room was tiny.. but not nearly as tiny as the bathroom which was designed so poorly it was difficult to even stand at the sink with the door closed. Thank goodness I was with my husband so I didn't mind if the door stood open all the time. WORST PART of the stay: Saturday morning at 9 am a helicopter landed on the roof and just kept going. Per the front desk it was going to go on all day as the helicopter was putting stuff up on an adjacent building. You can't tell me they didn't know this was going to happen. Sunday morning same thing. 9 am. Sounded like there was a jet taking off outside our window. The constant severely loud noise stressed me out so badly that we got an earlier flight home. We couldn't take it any more. This building is extremely old and has not been updated. The elevators are slow and old and will only carry about two people at a time. I'm not sure how this building passes code with the narrow hallways and weird narrow stairs. Lastly the included breakfast? Skip it, gross. The people were awesome... front desk staff, the valet. All very friendly and helpful.

All employees are extraordinarily polite, kind and super nice. I especially want to point out Dory in reception - she does an excellent job. We got a very nice impression from everyone. The lady in the restaurant was also very nice and we could see how she tried to please all customers at breakfast every morning. She even sat down with guests to talk, everyone could tell they liked her a lot. The room, very normal, the bathroom, extremely small. You receive complimentary shampoo, lotion, and conditioner from “Bath and Body Works”. They have to improve a little more the details of cleaning, for example the air filter in the bathroom was dirty, the bathtub was clogged. The first day, they cleaned the rooms quite late, around 4.30pm, so we put the no-clean sign on as it was too late for us since we were resting before going out again. They have information in the bathroom about "green stays" and how to help preserve the environment through taking advantage of the towels or refusing the room service in order to save the environment. Contradictorily to this, absolutely everything at breakfast was disposable: plates, cutlery, napkins… how many tons of garbage do these produce as well? It seems to me then that the notice about taking advantage of the towels didn’t really have an environmental purpose but had more to do with saving a few dollars in external laundry services...

Wonderful staff, great location!
Wonderful staff! Beds/pillows were very comfortable. Either we got lucky and didn't have noisy neighbors or the walls are pretty sound proof. I slept great! Excellent hotel breakfast, so many choices! Chobani or yoplait, plain eggs or with cheese, egg whites, egg white omelette, ham or turkey sausage, etc... We could see our destinations from our room. To the far left is the CNN building/State Farm Arena. To the far right is the Aquarium. In the opposite direction and very close to the hotel is the Peachtree Center Mall/Food. Massive food court! We ate at Aviva by Kameel. We walked everywhere but if you don't want to I suggest using MARTA (train) to commute from Peachtree Mall to the CNN building/Aquarium, vice versa. My only complaint is that the ice machine needs a good cleaning, ice was dirty. And our room was incredibly small. For a 1 night stay and just 2 of us it worked out fine. But if you need plenty room to sprawl out you will not be happy with the double bed, 194 sq ft room. Pay close attention to the room sizes listed. Pack light, thankfully we did.

No Commitment & No accountability
When we pulled into the Hotel, there was no one to assist us with valet parking. So, we finally walked into the Hotel and the room that we had reservations for and had paid for in advance with a king size bed was no longer available. The reason given to us was because others had checked in earlier than us. The room that they assigned us had no views to anything but another wall and it was not cleaned and super small. The customer service personnel who checked us in stated that they were shorthanded and had several issues that day with personnel. In closing, this hotel did not fulfilled their commitment for what we paid for and no one seem to care or was going to be held accountable for not fulfilling their commitment to my family. My wife & I stay in downtown ATL all the time, however after this experience, we will NEVER stay at this hotel ever again!
