Valadier Hotel
On arrival we were told their 1st floor was out of action. They apologised and put 4 of us into 1 suite and put 2 in another room. Gave us a bottle of champagne as an apology. The room for 2 was on the 2nd floor and it was next to a club in hotel. The noise was horrendous and so didn't sleep till 3.30am which I needed to get up at 6am to catch my flight. My son in the adjoining room had flu and they offered to move us at 1.30am in the morning even though they knew there was a birthday party going on. They had pleanty of opportunity to have informed during the day so we could move rooms. As we were getting up in 4.5 hours we decided to stay put because we were told it would only be another hour. They have not refunded the 3rd room we didnt have or refunded the night of the room which was too loud to sleep in. I am very cross that we have paid out for a room we didnt have and a room that was unsuitable for sleeping. You can't take money for 3 rooms when we only had 2. My 2 daughter's and their partners had to share a room when they hadnt seen each other for 9 days. On the up side the hotel is beautiful and very central. On the downside the hotel needs to accept their responsibilties to their guests considering the inconvenience they caused us. A bottle of champagne is nowhere near compensation. A refund should have been offered for the 2 rooms for at least one night. Such a shame they were nice people.

It’s a hotel not a nightclub
This was the third time I’d stayed at the valadier. I won’t be again. It’s a nice hotel well located with a lovely roof terrace. However on the last two occasions I have been woken at 2am by loud music from the bar. Both times I have been told it was for an 18th birthday party. I asked when it was going to finish (15 mins). No real apology. No reference to it when I checked out. I don’t mind music in the evening but this is a hotel not a night club and I was on the 2nd floor.

Valadier Hotel
Nice location and good price but tiny room
Hotel Valadier is well located in a nice area of Rome - easy walking access to many sights. The room I had was minuscule - reminded me of being on a boat with everything squeezed in - not sure how I would have managed if there had been 2 of us in the room! Fittings feel quite dated. Only one power socket in the room which is frustrating. Local area was very noisy at night - live music which was loud despite having the window closed. However, a lot of the shortcomings of the room were made up for by the beautiful rooftop restaurant which makes a lovely setting for breakfast, especially on a sunny day. For the price I paid I think this represents good value, but I would have preferred a little more space in the room!
