Missing room service menu
I liked the history of the hotel, with details, and photographs, of all the well known people who stayed there including various prime ministers. But (a) there was not a room service menu in the room; despite the guest directory stating that all one needed to do was to order from such directory in the room; and (b) when I tried to telephone for such room service menu, I had to telephone five times: one attempt lasting over five minutes. I even tried to ring the external main BT telephone line, as if I was ringing from my house in London and this went to voicemessege on two occasions. I would have thought that staff could have clearly seen that there was not a room service menu present when preparing the room? After all, it is advertised as the best hotel in the town.

Nice hotel with nice and friendly staff, the pool is dated, food wasn’t the best, parking £7 per night which is an additional cost, location just off the main strip close to the North Pier, over all a nice stay for Blackpool as a lot of places are very run down.

weekend break
The hotel was in an ideal location. The room was clean and tidy, could do with updating though. The jacuzzi wasn't working but the swimming pool was good. The bus stop and tram stop was right outside the hotel.

Family birthday celebrations
We stayed to celebrate a family birthday. We booked a deluxe room and a superior family room. These rooms were lovely and spacious, however a window in the deluxe room didnt fit properly, so there was a big draft. One night was particularly stormy and the noise of wind howling was loud enough to wake me. When we arrived I needed to book an additional single room, this was so tiny I labelled it an expensive cupboard!! We complained and my son was moved to a much better double room. I wouldnt rate the single rooms.
