Bad meal, Ruined evening
After a long day traveling I was looking forward to having a good meal in the hotels restaurant, my partner wanted to go out but I said the hotel restaurant would be good especially when you see how pricey the menu is. I ordered pan fried Salmon and vegetables. It was disgusting it was over cooked till it was a solid slab of hard burnt fish, the vegetables were over cooked and limp and looked dirty. My partner had a Blue burger with bacon. The bacon was black and the burger was burnt, The chips over cooked cold and smothered in salt. We called over the very embarrassed waitress and asked her what she thought. She said she didn’t agree with the way our food was cooked, I asked if they actually had a trained chef in the kitchen and she hummed and arred. I asked for the manager who said what can I do for you I just pointed to the food and asked what do you think of this food. He apologized and was also in full agreement it was bad! The worst I have ever been served! He asked if would like a free desert? We said no, my partner had to actually ask him to take the mains off the bill which he did! The very spoilt evening still cost £43.70 for wine a beer and two starters. Never again Mercure! The whole thing is a farce and in my opinion the whole meal should have been wiped for ruining a day that should have ended with a beautiful relaxing meal!

Tired
Location good, but that’s it. Have stayed here a few times and feel it is in need of a refresh. Decor is tired, furniture chipped and worn. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Don’t know if 4 stars is justified.
