Disappointing stay in El Paso!
Harlan on Reception and Abraham on Guest Services were great. The hotel had a nice but plain foyer moving into the bar area with a lovely Tiffany glass dome over the large, but dark bar. This, in our opinion, would look much better and more inviting with a bit more light. Our Twin Queen bedded room was large but lacked furniture to put things on. It was dark and needed more lighting to lift it. There were only 3 Table lamps, one in the entrance doorway and two in the bedroom area, but, this apparently is their policy. There was no bottles of water in room and we had to ask for two bottles to be delivered to our room - twice - before it was delivered. We also requested an extension cord - twice - and as I use a CPAP machine to assist my breathing at night, but, this was never delivered, in spite of asking for it twice. We had to improvise by using the chair by the desk to put the CPAP Maxine on near my bed. The Staff were lovely and very helpful, but, communication between departments seemed to be a problem!!!

Grubby and unloved
One of the shabbiest, grubby and most unloved hotels I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. How it manages to pass itself off and get into the Historic Hotels of America is beyond belief. Whoever owns it should be ashamed,

a good base
The hotel is lovely and part of the history of the area. We had a room on a high floor so we had a great view over mexico.the room itself was spacious and the beds were comfy.bathroom was dated but functioning (the toilet made lots of noise though). Main criticism would be a lack of light, just a table lamp to light up a fair sized room plus the lighting in bathroom meant a shower was pretty much in the dark. Saying that we would still stay again as it is clean and a fantastic location for downtown.

The restaurant choice, yes only one, was horrible and there are only 2 very expensive restaurant within walking distance. No good breakfast choices either. Downtown area not safe for walking around after dark.
