Grand Hotel Plaza

Beautiful interiors in lobby, bar, dinning and other common area's. Helpful, lovely, friendly staff. Dated and not very clean personal accommodations.

We stayed here some 18years ago and unfortunately not much has changed, Great location and good staff, terrace and ballroom great for a drink and not madly expensive unlike the breakfast! One of our pillows felt like it was full of bits from the Colosseum. Very big room but ill fitting adjoining doors meant next door very noisy, no shower curtain but plenty of hot water.TV reception was like looking through a thunderstorm, didn't complain as we didn't go to rome to look at the telly. Despite the location €250/270p n without breakfast is way too much.

It was better than expected, the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, polite, made us feel very much at home.

A wonderful return trip to Rome. Hotel very well located for ll the sights and the metro if you need to give your feet a rest! Loved the roof terrace, a peaceful haven to enjoy a negroni or two. We had a junior suite which was a welcome surprise. Can't praise the concierge enough, he was so helpful getting us a taxi to the airport after our pre-arranged taxi failed to show up, no mean feat in the centre of Rome on a Sunday afternoon!

i saw the website and really loved the vibe and was super excited to stay here. but i was super disappointed and horrified - i don't know how this place is supposed to be 5 stars. first of all, the room was really dirty, it's quite dusty and there's many signs of poorly maintained areas (is that even a thing? poorly maintained?) and they didn't give us water the first day and there's no tea kettle? (it's 5€ to rent and 20€ if you want tea/coffee set) oh, the toilet is dysfunctional and the water goes down the sink incredibly slow. the bed mattress is the kind that has springs and they are so worn in that if you sit/lie on the edge you WILL fall off. when we asked for more towels, they said they don't have anymore at the moment so we were given robes. the wifi also doesn't work from our room (#355) aside from the decor and the location, i have nothing good to say about this place. i would never stay here again.
