About Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa

Restful Tokyo hotel with a Japanese garden and tea house

Near Shinagawa Station

Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa is a 5-minute walk from Shinagawa Station for JR lines to Narita Airport, Tokyo Disney Resort, and the shops and entertainments of Shibuya and Shinjuku. The station area is renowned for its ramen noodle shops, using regional recipes from across Japan.

The quieter side of Tokyo

It's a 20-minute walk from the National Park for Nature Study, a peaceful protected reserve of native forest and marshlands. You can learn about the famous 47 Ronin at the nearby Sengakuji Temple, then hop on the metro for a shopping spree in Ginza or a big night out in Roppongi.

Guest salons to relax in

The hotel's public spaces are pleasantly arranged around a tranquil Japanese garden, with a teahouse in the middle and an outdoor terrace at Grand Café Patio. You can enjoy a quiet chat in the cigar bar or guest salons, and restaurant options range from prime steak to sushi.

Lounging in a yukata

All 392 guestrooms are unusually spacious for a hotel in this area, with calming views of the garden and Tokyo Tower from the upper floors. You can change into a comfortable yukata cotton robe and settle in to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV with a cold minibar drink. Free WiFi is available.

Probably the main reason I loved Tokyo
The garden was absolutely beautiful and the view from the room and lounge was completely worth the money during sakura blossoming season! The room was spacious, clean and incredibly comfortable the neighbourhood was great. Not too touristy, good food, shopping and good massage shops in the 15-minutes walking radius. Great transport links too.

Great for first trip to Tokyo
Really good base for a stay in Tokyo... close to the Yamanote line so easy to get around but less full on than other parts of the city. Would recommend for first few days in Tokyo to avoid sensory overload while you deal with your jet lag! Shinagawa station is also very easy to negotiate but has good access to the airport, to the bullet train or for local Tokyo trains The garden is absolutely beautiful as well

Nice hotel, poor service (and no English)
My stay started getting lost in the rain which didn't help, but I arrived early and the staff couldn't even understand my request to check in early and my questioning of the fact that I would be charged for this (even though the room was ready and waiting). The fact that the staff didn't speak English made the stay really difficult and I would expect staff at this standard of hotel to at least be able to quickly direct my queries to someone else if they could not help me. The hotel itself was comfortable, the room was nice and I had a great view, but the service was not up to standard and it spoiled my stay.

Gorgeous hotel garden
Small but compact. Beautiful garden and close walk to cafes and restaurants. Easy stay for our overnight stay in Shinagawa, close to JR train station. Up a slight hill but we didn't have problems managing our luggage and the beautiful garden was worth the walk!

Awesome hotel
This hotel is SO AMAZING!! The staff are super awesome and fun, the beds are clean and it fells like home. The room has amazing design. They include awesome breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and more!! The backyard is so amazing!! There are a lot of beautiful things. There is a little pond with beautiful fishes. There is an butt washing toilet in the restroom, there are also two showers. The bathrooms include bathrobes and towels. It also includes everything you will need. Like a toothbrush and toothpaste and razors and combs. The pillows on the beds feel firm and are comfy. The rooms include a giagantic window with beautiful a view of the city. The food at the hotel includes miso soup, macaroons and Japanese confectionary. The food is delicious and high quality. All the rooms have doorbells, and if someone rings your doorbell, you can see who it is. They also have a great security system. When you go on the elevator, you need to swipe your room card. They also have a currency exchange room that you can exchange money at. There are a lot of restaurants in the hotel. I really recommend this hotel, if you are going to go to Tokyo, I really suggest this hotel. I look forward to come back to this hotel!!!!!!!
