Clean, confy and sushi online....GREAT
Hotels in San Juan are expensive. I was traveling alone and had 2 extra nights before flight. Found the basic room for $43 was perfect. Self check in. Clean white walls, new AC, big TV up on wall and ok bed. Small room with fridge (2 waters) but for one traveler works. WiFi. Uber is all around, dinning options but went online, found sushi with delivery...Bathroom was small but clean and useful with plenty nice towels. First night no hot water but next day had some. Nice terrace on top and you can walk to the beach.

Great no frills place for a night
Room 16 pros: biggest room, windows, very clean, modern inside, in a safe neighborhood, walking distance to beach access, restaurants and liquor store, coffee in lobby, large rooftop with bit of ocean view is great! Cons: parking is hit or miss especially weekends (but I would Uber everywhere I couldn't walk in San Juan area), thin walls so bring ear plugs, busy area, Saturday night motor bike races happen down Isla Verde Ave, though we were happy to hear ppl having fun, maybe would be less noisy in one of those without windows? No elevator, but didn't bother us. Overall, was great for a night or few.

Ok place for one night stay
This place is ok if its a one night stay the room is clean, its a bit loud since the other guest hang out in the hall you can hear them, no one at desk when I arrived or checked out. The location was a bit ghetto but again if you need a one night stay for cheap its ok.

Best Guest house, worth the stay:)
I have been here for 7 days due to a problem with my flight reservation. I’m so thankful I found the pelican guest house. It has made a very stressful situation, better. Due to the kindness of staff, location, clean accommodations. My mind is at ease as I’m comfortable & well rested to continue my journey home.

Not recommend!! Beds are the worst/no services
There was service, no office or front desk if you needed anything!!! The beds are the worse I ever slept in.. you can literally feel the springs in the bed, it is very low to the ground, and has a very hard frame around the mattress!!!

Poor 2.0
Well if your looking for cheap this is definitely the place . But that come with a price . No hott showers , no staff to help with anything , the beds mattresses are like feel like a cheap full out bed style mattress. And we found a bug in our bed . We had the place for 3 days 2 night but left the first night and when we called to complain no one cared to even communicate. Stay away from this place . But hey it’s cheap but I have seen nicer motels then this place .

Poor 2.0
Though extremely affordable, the Pelican is NOT recommended for anyone to stay while on vacation. There are bedbugs on the thin mattresses that will eat through your flesh. After coming back home I went to the doctor thinking I had mosquito bites and he diagnosed me with bedbug bites. How disturbing! There are no windows in the room at all. There is no shower curtain just half of a glass so the floor becomes soaking wet. Room service does not come or offer towels or toilet paper. All of those things must be asked for. There was a stray cat on the premises that would come inside of my room if I left the door open for fresh air. The cat was on the roof top where the barbecue grill is so guest couldn’t even enjoy without animals begging. Bird poop everywhere on the premises, thin walls to hear other guest, and the staff asks that you text them if you need attention but will take HOURS to respond. There are construction men on the premises “working” all the time and it’s not comfortable for a single female traveler.
