Expensive for the room size you receive.
Very disappointed with our second stay here. The first stay, the room was OK, small and not worth the £200 plus we paid for it. However it was clean and the breakfast was high quality and generous. However on our return leg we were initially offered a room that really has no place in the hotel business let alone a 5 star hotel. It was so small, there wasn't room for a bedside unit on one side. Added to that the bathroom was so small you actually had to climb over the bidet to get to the toilet. The final straw was the description of a courtyard view. What does that bring to mind? A sheltered spot, maybe a fountain playing? No, this was the central light well of the building with an awesome view of bedroom windows and a fire escape staircase. Needles so I say we complained and were moved fairly promptly to a room similar to the one on our first stay. So the question is, why were we initially offered such a small room when better rooms were available? Do the Spanish still hate the English? Do they think we won't complain and simply accept what we're offered? Either way, it left a sour taste and sullied the end of our holiday.

Awesome weekend!
Highly, highly recommended! Very classy hotel in ideal location to explore the city. We stayed in a deluxe room with an upgrade to use the executive lounge on the red level which allows access to the roof top terrace for sunbathing and jacuzzi. The room was lovely and clean with plenty to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. The bed provided a great night's sleep. The quality of service was exemplary throughout. There was plenty of high quality food available for free all day, as well as wine and Moet to make this the ideal stay for a couple to enjoy the beauty of Madrid. The tour bus stops right outside to hop on and off. We will be back here there is no doubt.

Lovely hotel in a great area.
II had a very nice Stay in this hotel. This is the 3 or 4 th time that we stay in this hotel and it keeps its high standard of comfort and service. I wish they would give a good cleaning to the carpeting of the stairs in the entrance . It would look so much nicer. The hotel feels personal and the staff at the reception is attentive and professional. It is very well located. I shall come back.

This hotel is true old Spanish style with the elegance of drapes, crown moldings and luxurious bathroom. The staff were polite and responded quickly and nicely to all requests. The bartender at the Dry Martini bar was superb. He knew exactly what to make and gave each guest a wonderful creation.
