This is a cute little roadside lodge. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The property is well maintained and clean. You are literally close enough to hear the waves crashing across the street. Parking is free and the rooms feel cozy but still clean enough for the traveler. They are pet friendly and have plenty of doggy bags available. They also offer late check in if you call in advance that was very nice for us.

The great thing about this motel was the bed; it was quite comfortable and had four pillows. Also, there was a good selection on the TV with a couple of my favorite vintage channels. I didn’t find the room, particularly clean, the heater smelled like burnt hair when it came on at first, and the room was kind of ragged around the edges. It was the cheapest motel in the area, but they had a high rating. I think the rating was over optimistic.

The hotel was rather run down, definitely in need of an update, especially the bathroom. The shower head was literally chest high. The room was ok, bed was ok. The hotel is close to the San Simeon Creek Campground, across the road from the beach, not far from Hearst Castle. There must be other hotels in this area that are better. The biggest issue was the people in the room next to mine. They decided to turn on loud music around 9:30 and played it loudly until after midnight, singing along with the music. It was terrible. I won’t be staying there again.
