Pleasant stay
The hotel is in a great location and has free parking. The building is beautiful but a little tired, especially the floors, (on the third floor anyway), which are very creaky. Our room was comfortable and warm with a recently renovated shower room. We didn't take the hotel breakfast so cant comment on the food, but overall a pleasant stay and good value. The hotel is handy for many pubs, restaurants, shops and of course the V &A museum.

Quiet Queens
Slightly disappointed when I saw that 7 Christmas parties were allocated for that night. My fears were groundless:- a quiet, peaceful night in comfortable beds. The beauty of Victorian buildings! Check in and out straightforward.

Good 6.0
Satisfactory with some parking
This tired old lady is now showing her age. It can’t be easy competing with all the brand new hotels in Dundee. Saying that, the staff were efficient, the bed comfortable, the room large and clean and situated just across the road from the Dundee Rep, our reason for staying here. Free parking for 24 hours is definitely a major plus here although the spaces were limited as it is also a public car park. However, whilst the cooked breakfast was satisfactory the buffet breakfast was a bit disappointing. Small individual Vacuum packed cheese pieces next to insipid looking wafer thin reconstituted ham slices. Small selection of yoghurts beside a bowl of fruit pieces that tasted like the tinned ones so common in the 1970’s. Urn of weak cheap tasting coffee. I am sure that the kitchen is doing its best under strict financial restrictions but I am afraid that it is not providing what the modern traveller is expecting these days. We stay in many hotels around Britain and while this hotel is not the worst by a long chalk, but, it is not in the top 50% either.

Fair 4.0
Unsatisfactory and overpriced.
I had asked for a room with an accessible bathroom.. I arrived at hotel after a 2 hour drive straight from work and I was unable to use either the bath or shower as they were inaccessible for me. The hotel was full, and did not have time to wait and see if they could swop me another room as I had to get ready for an important function I was attending. The staff told me they had not been informed I had mobility issues and required an accessible bathroom, so I am extremely dissatisfied. I had to have a stand up wash in the morning and this is not acceptable at the price of the room.
