Have a poo whilst washing your feet in the shower!
I stayed here for 5 nights on a Business trip and it was fine as a base. Please be aware that I spent 23 years working in Submarines so I am used to compact and cramped spaces! The room was fine, it was comfortable and had all the facilities that you would expect, I could, however, sit on the toilet and have a wee whilst washing my feet in the shower. The hand basin in the bathroom would be good for washing sprouts, carrots and any small vegetables. Anything bigger and you would struggle. It certainly has no use as a proper bathroom sink. A kitchen area was provided, plates/knifes/forks weren't The bed is described as a double, it maybe for dwarfs but for those of us who are of average build/height you would need to spoon them constantly. My room was very close to the lifts, the ding of a lift arriving at all hours was pretty annoying and I believe the DLR must start at around 0540 as that is the time I woke up every morning. The surfaces were clean, however, When I dropped my glasses on the floor and I looked under the bed I believe I had found enough dust to clone all the previous occupants of the room, a little more attention to detail needed. This may read as a really bad review, it isn't and certainly it was a pleasant experience and one that I would repeat. Next time I am back working in Canary Wharf I will stay there again.

Good 6.0
Great concept but reality is tiny and basic!
The Collective is potentially a great idea but probably more suited for a few days stay than a 1 nighter. I booked the smallest room available and it is tiny. This is made reasonably clear on the website, but in reality it's not very homely - just functional. A few more basics would help (like a cloth / washing up liquid / tea towel) when choosing to cook in the room. Having said that, you could go to the kitchen. Not quite fully open (no restaurant or pool yet) but if I was staying for a few days, I might consider again but would definitely look to book a larger unit.

Stupidly small rooms. Even the bigger ones.
Room is TINY. I couldn’t clean my teeth in the bathroom without having the door open. This is also not quite a hotel. It’s like a student dorm/apartment block. Staff don’t care. It took them an hour to bring a iron to the room and room wasn’t cleaned properly. We complained and it just felt like the staff didn’t care. We got a bottle of Prosecco as a sorry but that was only when I told them that gesture would be appreciated.

Weekend break
The room was extremely small and very noisy all night. As the room was not far from the lifts the comings and goings all night gave myself and my son an awful nights sleep. The hotel isn’t in a particularly busy part of Canary Wharf but as it sits in a courtyard all noise outside just amplifies upwards. We were supposed to stay one night and checked out after one. Perhaps the fact we stayed on a Friday was an additional issue but won’t be going back.

Unorganised and under-staffed
Booked a double room and it was very small. The bed is barely able to be classed as a double and the sink in the bathroom is so small you can’t wash your face properly in it. To make matters worse the building wasn’t finished and that meant the gym etc were not accessible and in the morning it took over 20 minutes to just get a coffee because they only had one person serving. At the point I was served they had ran out of milk and croissants and they were hand washing cups for service. All in all a very poor showing.
