Must Do Better
First impressions – great but the first room we were given was tiny and smelt of urine and bleach. I cannot believe they offered it to a paying guest! We were grumpily given a new room which was a little bigger and did not smell so bad. Points to note: few toiletries were supplied, just a couple of shampoo sachets; the maid did not clean when requested; the bar is swish but it is set up for non-guests – you will be lucky to get a table! Breakfast is basic, the fruit is hidden away and has to be asked for and the restaurant was not open for evening meals. Overall, not disastrous but should have been way better for the price.

Perfect location to attractions, very walkable. Our room was modern, clean and spacious. Bathroom was a good size and clean also. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth. Enjoyed our 3 night stay very much.

I was a solo traveler and was given room 728, which I was not told is directly underneath the rooftop bar. Bedford claims to have soundproofed rooms, but this room was very noisy. When I called down to see if they had anything quieter, they said I would have to pay 30 euros extra. I agreed, even though I did not think it should cost me extra to have a quiet room, when that is what is advertised. I re-packed my suitcases and moved down to room 252, only to discover that the AC was broken (temps were 27-30C that week). When I called back to the front desk they said "sorry, we forgot that room doesn't have AC." My only options were to stay in the room with no AC, or return to my original noisy room. I tried several times to call in the following days to speak with the hotel's manager, but they were never in. When I finally reached out via email, they only offered me a credit on a future stay (I was on holiday from Canada, I will likely never be visiting Brussels again). I was very disappointed with my stay and would not recommend this hotel to solo travelers (many of the single rooms are directly underneath the rooftop bar).
