A very unique hotel in an area with a lot of cool shops. If you are looking for vintage stores, gay bars, and tattoo parlors, this is your spot. I would not recommend either the hotel or the neighborhood to anyone traveling with small children. Sidewalks in Hillcrest are stinky. Our room had beds that you had to climb a ladder to, which is a ton of fun if you're 25, not so much if you are 5 or 75, perhaps. My bed was super comfortable! It was perfect for me and my 18 year old, but I probably wouldn't stay in this neighborhood again, just visit for the shops/bars. Our room did have a big balcony which I wasn't expecting, and that was great.
Hotel management responded right away when our sink wasn't draining, and the maids were also very nice and friendly. Love that there was parking right below the building.
