Sadly not what was expected
The room was clean and tidy but there was not a separate seating area as stated, but the receptionist was amazing and sourced a couple of chairs. No sink in the kitchenette(if thats what its called) made it awkward to wash up cups or plates. More of a hotel room with microwave and fridge than an appartment hotel, but the receptionist was really amazing and done all she could to help..

Lovely stay
Service from Julie was outstanding - we had such a warm welcome. The room was lovely, very nice decor but a bathroom door would be ideal. Great location!

Southport Stay
Stayed for 1night. Room was very spacious and modern very large tv. And very clean. Bed was large and comfy. The person who took us to our room was very nice and informative. Only downside there was no iron. And couldn’t find anyone to ask for 1. And there are no doors on bathroom was ok for us but if u like yr Privacy in the bathroom could be a problem

Close, but could be better
We stayed in the Penthouse Apartment at Hotel 21 in August 2019 and it felt (almost) like we were the first people ever to use the room! It’s a seriously nice building and will only get better as the rebuild is completed and the hotel opens ‘properly.’ The reason I say this is that there are / were things listed in the hotel description that aren’t currently available or weren’t offered. The restaurant that is listed in the description is actually closed and the new one won’t be available until October. It mentions that breakfast is available in the listing but there was no mention of it when we checked in or afterwards. We therefore thought we’d make our own but there is no toaster or grill in the apartment so our options were a bit limited. When I rang and asked about the toaster or whether we could be given one from an un-booked room, I was told that a previous guest had broken it a couple of weeks ago and that they ‘hadn’t had time’ to replace it (Argos is just around the corner folks.) It’s just the little niggly things like this that will no doubt get better as the hotel takes on staff (the reception is currently unstaffed) and picks up its customer service game. If guests are paying full price, they expect a commensurate level of service. Finally, the owner may want to re-consider that CCTV camera in the guest room (in our case the one in the vestibule between the main apartment entrance door and the bedroom door) is quite intrusive if not a bit weird!
