With frequent travel for conferences, meetings and holidays, having stayed in different type of rooms before around the world, we would not recommended to anyone if basic necessities such as bottle of water, tissue box and late check-out request could not be provided. There was no bottle of water and tissue provided and we were told that they could only provide to those who book suite room and not standard room. The message given was the hotel does not bother about other guests unless you book a suite room onwards. On our last night on 23 Aug 19, we could not sleep due to noises from next room of 332 where the guests were talking and laughing loudly till 2 plus in the morning! The phone in our room was not working at all for us to call the reception for assistance. As a result, the whole night we could not sleep well.Having a proper rest is important especially if guests been out whole day and would feel tired , hoping to catch up on some good sleep. The interior wall of the hotel is thin and you could hear loud noises and slamming of door at night causing disturbance to guests. Plus when we asked for late check-out , we were told we need to pay. With all the problems we have encountered, we did not expected such poor service standard from a hotel.

It was a charming Victorian hotel close to Paddington station. We took the Heathrow express in and it was just a short taxi drive to our hotel. The restaurant was good but the service seemed kind of slow. For the portion size that you received it was on the pricier side. The rooms were small, but we really weren’t in them very much anyway. The hotel is situated on a lovely garden Boulevard in a very quiet neighborhood. It was always nice to come back to the hotel and relax after a day in the busy city. Probably the thing that I disliked the most about the hotel is that there was no where to open a large suitcase except on your bed. The staff was friendly and always willing to hail a taxi for us and even provided us with an electrical adapter for our American made electronics. Free Wi-Fi was nice although at times it was kind of shoddy.

I like to the location of this property. The neighborhood is really quiet and safe. The rooms are really cute! I like the idea of the exposed brick. The staff was friendly and helpful. I only ate breakfast there once, but it was good. The property itself was clean and nicely decorated. The water pressure in the shower is amazing and the water gets hot very quickly which is wonderful! When I first checked into my room, the room was clean in general, but it seemed as if no one had used or visited that particular room since the last time it was cleaned, so there was a lot of dust on the bedside tables, on the tv remote, on the teapot and on certain areas of the floor. I didn’t complain to the hotel, but I made a quick mention of it on the Expedia survey after I checked in. Immediately that day I received a letter from the hotel addressing the issue and making sure that my room was spotless and everything was up to my satisfaction! I really appreciated that they took my concerns seriously and did what they could to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. The only other thing that I didn’t like was that my room in particular was very noisy. The walls are very thin so if anyone is walking in the hallway, or if other people are closing their room doors, or if the cleaning crew is coming by, it’s very loud. I was woken up a few times because of this. However, during the night when everyone is asleep it’s very peaceful and you don’t hear any street noise or anything.

A little gem
We chose this hotel as it was close to Hyde Park for BST. It’s 15 minutes walk from Paddington station which was pleasant with some lovely architecture The hotel itself is situated in a quiet residential square. As two older females we felt safe in this area. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the full English breakfast was the best I’ve had for some time. The selection of buffet breakfast cheeses, bread, ham, fruit and pastries were also plentiful. The twin beds were comfy though the shower room was small. I had booked an Executive room and was disappointed to be allocated to a basement room with the outlook of an internal courtyard and adjoining doors to the next room. The floors are hardwood so we could hear our neighbours moving around underneath the gap between the doors. Slightly perturbing at gone midnight. Had we stayed for longer I’d have asked for another room. We would definitely return here but would be mindful of room location. All in all a little gem in a popular area of London.

Solo traveller experience
This was my first time in London and I'm very happy I chose to stay at the Caesar. I was travelling alone and stayed for five nights. Excellent service was provided by the friendly staff at the hotel. The front desk staff, especially Ciprian, were extremely helpful in assisting me to book tours, print documents and provide advice to a first time tube user! The location was great for me, close enough to get to everything by foot (I even walked to Buckingham Palace), bus or the underground (Paddington station was an easy 5-10 minute walk away), but in a quiet, quaint and safe neighbourhood. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was clean, cosy and had everything I needed. I pre-purchased breakfast for each day during my stay, which was cheaper than paying as you go and was very convenient (although make sure you don't sleep in and miss out!). The food was very good and staff were very attentive in making sure my coffee cup was always full! It was my birthday during my stay, and my family arranged with the hotel to have a little birthday cake waiting for me when I returned that evening. It was a lovely surprise and was greatly appreciated, especially as I was so far from home on my birthday. I definitely recommend the Caesar to other solo travellers who are are looking for quality accommodation in a quiet area. It was the perfect base for me to explore London from.
