Won't be coming back anytime soon.
We booked a room for 2 adults and a child. On arrival we were met by some po-faced harridan that couldn't even manage a smile-unusual for the US-who could see that there were 3 of us. We were put in one of their horrible 'inside rooms', that had 1 double bet in it. I rang down to complain, and they sent up a rollaway, ' which was just 'pushed through the door'. It had i thin blanket on it; in Boston in the middle of winter, so I called down again, and this time got a duvet It wasn't a pleasant experience, and wonder if they save their worst rooms for those customers who did not book direct with the hotel.

comfortable and clean, if a little tired
Location was my main reason for choosing the Buckminster, since I was visiting friends locally. Apart from that specific reason, the location is in fact not all that great, as the hotel is sandwiched between fairly busy roads, and overlooks the very busy Massachusetts Turnpike. Since it was late November, it was not a problem to keep the window closed and thereby keep the noise to an acceptable level. However, a summer visit might be a less attractive proposition. The hotel itself is quite satisfactory, but shows its age in places - could probably do with a makeover.
