This was a perfect stay! Only a block away from the subway station (easy transport into the city), 25-30 min drive to the airport, and a wonderful neighborhood… my husband and I will definitely be staying at this hotel again!

The staff was great. The room was charming but it did have an old cigarette odor I think it is in the carpet. It also needed a deep cleaning as far as baseboards. I did love the charm of the building which I enjoyed as well as the staff who where always helpful.

Lovely staff, quaint, historic hotel. Not shiny and new so you may need to adjust expectations. While there is an elevator, there are steps at the entrance to the building as well as inside to get to said elevator. It was kind of difficult to maneuver with heavy luggage, but again, staff was willing to help in any way. Perfect location, very walkable. We love Oak Park!

The Carleton Hotel of Oak Park is a wonderful blend of historic character and modern comfort. The boutique, classic ambiance offers a refreshing change from standard hotel chains, and its prime location makes walking to local attractions effortless. The Carelton is like stepping back into the 1940’s. Very quaint. The room was comfortable, had a kitchen with microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. The shower was a large walk in. My only issue was the bathroom sink needed some Draino and the toilet seat needs to be screwed on tightly. The area is charming and the front desk is very helpful.

Property was great. It had an old school vibe. If you're okay with just an older hotel, it has definitely been used. And has seen better days, but love the aesthetics. Definitely a place I would return. It has really no kids in the hotel at all, which was awesome. It was more adulty. Great location, if you're wanting to get to a lot of just cute shops, cute places to eat. Great to just kind of get to everywhere. We went downtown in like less than twenty minutes. And drove.

The cleaning staff did an excellent job. The room was tidied as often as you needed. The staff were very accommodating with my requests. Extra blankets etc. Darnell was especially personable and was a delight to speak to. The Poor Phils restaurant was fantastic and the waitress was great. We had a shrimp poboy and blackened catfish. It was a lovely atmosphere and fun people watching. The hotel is fantastic to walk to the L and great restaurants. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Clean and comfortable room. Very helpful when we arrived early and let us drop our bags and run. We arrived back to the hotel around midnight to check in. Attendant seemed to be ‘off’…maybe sick or on drugs.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was big, clean, and incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the wee kitchenette! We also came in completely exhausted so it was a real boon to have a restaurant on the ground floor.
