Perfect
Quirky, quaint, modern, retro, everything we hoped for. Loved it.

Over rated and Pretentious
The Hoxton is a bit 'too cool for school' and in its self conscious pretention it makes some very basic mistakes eg no shelves in the bathroom where you can perch your own toiletries; the only hotel I've stayed in, inc many 5 star hotels around the world, not to give away any toiletries, which is mean; cooked breakfast, my scrambled egg was overcooked and heavily salted, one piece of toast with minimal butter. My whole experience of this hotel is that it is proud of itself and mean at the same time. Service overall incredibly slow, at reception and for breakfast. I enquired about lunch for 13 people and was told I'd have to have a set menu which had just 3 indifferent main courses and apple pie for pudding. Really unimpressed.

Beautiful hotel
Lovely hotel with great style, beautiful rooms, good service and good food at the restaurant downstairs. Great bar too. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Amsterdam and this is now a firm favourite The only downside is no room service or food of any sort after 11pm with nowhere in the vicinity to get quick, decent food late at night. But I guess a bit of forward planning can avoid that being a problem

great value and great location
Very impressed with the Hoxton. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the decor and quirky touches ie piles of books in the room and round the hotel. Good thick blinds and curtains and amazingly comfy king sized bed. Very good restaurant with lovely food and proper linen napkins. Would definitely stay again.
