Clean, warm and comfortable room. I was on the front of the building which was exposed to the loud sounds of the city centre day time and nightlife but there’s adequate additional sound proofing of the windows for a good night’s sleep. Service at check in was good but could’ve been better; my Hotels.com Gold Membership wasn’t recognized but service improved when I had to request additional toilet paper and bath towels. I’ve started previously and would continue to stay in the future.

Ideally positioned for the train station and close to all city centre facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. King size room was comfortable and had all the essential including a fridge. Slightly noisy on one night due to bar / club nearby but thoughtfully ear plugs were available in the bedside drawer. Happy to revisit.

Parked in the LNER car park, long stay train station. Plenty of spaces, however is quite a tight turn to get up to there. We stayed over night and paid contactless on the way out it is £17 per day but would definitely recommend as you can use the back entrance to the hotel. Hotel is in a great position, next door to Jalou the night club but hotel itself is very quite considering how close it is and is across the road from a Nando’s. We ate at Las iguanas which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Lovely hotel, room was a little small but bed was comfortable shower and bathroom was lovely and the staff were great very helpful. The room had lots of little helpful things like fan, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, shampoo, lotions and TV! Definitely would stay again and was perfect for the two of us.

Was surprised about being interrogated on the way back in at 3 am, you could easily warn people! Power cut delayed everything. Room tiny for the amount paid. Shampoo mini bottles not very eco friendly. Staff absolutely lovely!! Great brekky. Thank you

Stayed just one night at The Royal Station Hotel as I needed to break a long rail journey over two days. The hotel is so convenient, being adjacent to the railway station. It is one of the classic old railway hotels. Got a very good value rate by booking in advance with Hotels.com. I absolutely loved this hotel; such a wonderful old building full of character. My room was clean and warm, the bed comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Good shower. Nice evening meal in the restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't get to sample breakfast as I had to catch an early train off Newcastle to continue my journey. All the staff were so friendly. Will definitely return.
