Cute hotel in the perfect location!
The best part of this hotel is the location -- right in the middle of everything and only two tram stops from Amsterdam Centraal Station, and the tram stop was right in front of the hotel. Since I was alone, I just needed a simple place to stay in a perfect location since I was only going to be in my room to sleep, and this hotel was perfect for this! Great customer service. I had two different reservations -- one for a twin room on the first night and the a reservation for a double room for three nights. I emailed them to ask if they could possible put me in the same room the entire time and they gave me a free upgrade from my twin room to a double for my first night so I could indeed be in the same room my entire stay. They said they upgraded my double room as well; however, the room was still small -- even by European standards -- but it was fine for just me. Loved that they had complimentary bottled water in the lobby in the morning and then a water jug with water and lemons or limes each day in order to fill up water bottles. Cute little hotel with cute lobby and close to a mall, couple blocks from a supermarket, block from Dam Square and really close to the canals and Anne Frank House.

Nice staff, great tourist location (I'm a business traveler). Check in was challenging -- I had to return to the front desk four times to convince them that my key card wasn't working (then they finally went up to my room and realized the battery in the keycard thing was dead... so had to wait for the manager to fix that). The pillows were pretty terrible - super lumpy. The room was very tight (knocked my jaw on the bathroom sink trying to sit down on the toilet), the hairdryer was prehistoric (connected to a wall air source), and there are only tiny bottles of shampoo/bodywash - no hair conditioner. For a business-woman that's just not going to work. With that said, I suppose I should have known that I needed to bring those things with me because European hotels just don't worry about business travelers (let alone female ones), and this hotel's location is truly for tourists. It's in the center of things, which was nice. I wouldn't recommend this place for women traveling on business unless you are well prepared with all the things you'll need (hairdryer, converters, hair conditioner, etc.) - all of which are hard to travel with and not have to check your bag. Otherwise it's a perfectly fine hotel for being in the center of things. The restaurant and breakfast was fine, too.

Booked superior room 3rd to 7th Oct,room decor very poor, bed very uncomfortable even with mattress topper and very poor room lighting. Complained after first night, Babette (ass front of house mgr) was very good but couldn’t move us until Saturday night. New room was much the same except much larger. Bed uncomfortable and dipped, curtains when closed were covered in holes, pillows very lumpy. Very sad as I could have stayed at the American or NH hotel for same price. All in all the rooms are not four star and did not match the public areas which were very nice. Saving grace was the staff who were great!and moved bedside lamp and there was a dirty ring, so not cleaned properly.

Friendly Hotel in Central Amsterdam
We booked two rooms for a 3 night stay in Amsterdam to visit family and do some sightseeing. The Hotel is undergoing some refurbishment at the moment and one of our rooms had an awful damp smell as though it needed airing. It was cold when we arrived but a member of staff told us how to use the heating and it soon warmed up. The showers were new and there was plenty of hot water. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. There was some traffic noise in the front room at night which is to be expected in a busy city. The room facing the back (313) was very quiet but had no view. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful - like most of the Dutch people we met! The location is fantastic and you can easily walk around and enjoy the scenery and it is very near to the Royal Palace, Anne Frank's house, the flower market and a place where you can do an enjoyable boat trip around the canal. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum are about an hours walk away but we enjoyed walking and did not use the trams or hire bikes. Remember to look left before you cross the roads as they are busy and traffic is on the other side to the UK.

Fantastic location
Me and my wife stayed for two nights jan2017. The hotel is in a fantastic location 1min from dam square 5mins from Anne Franks house and 10mins from the red light district and with a tram stop right outside to take you to any part of the city. The hotel was nice and clean and the central heating is very good which was a + as its extremely cold in January. rooms are rather small but if you are like me and my wife we are only in the room to sleep and spend as much time as possible out of the room. Breakfast was nice good coffee and juice. they have the normal dutch breakfast of cheese ham and bread but also sausage egg and bacon and a selection of fruit, yogurt and cerial. The hotel emailed me before if I want to reserve my breakfast which I think is worth doing as its 14euro otherwise I think its 19euro. I managed to get my room for 100 euros a night which I think is a good price the biggest bonus about this hotel is the location it really is perfectly located in the heart of the city.
