Getting to your room takes 2 elevators and a walk!
I'd like to share an extremely uncomfortable experience with the Morrison Clark Hotel that I've experienced during checkout.  As you know, Hotels.com is asking about the experience during the check-in process, and as customers, we select happy or unhappy faces. As I had an unhappy experience at my check-in I selected an unhappy face.  Today during our checkout, the hotel receptionist at the lobby asked us why we left negative feedback. We told him it was because the room was the furthest room from the entrance of the main building which is only accessible through two separate elevator rides and a walk between them. (And we were not communicated about this fact before we were guided to our room, we were guided by the bellman because it is impossible to reach to your room only with the verbal instructions without someone taking you there.) When we told him that was the reason we were unhappy about the check in experience, he aggressively asked us 'Didn't I assign you a bellman?'  repeatedly. We were shocked about the way he asked the question. In panic we tried to explain again and felt so uncomfortable. It was our last day at DC  and only day when we can see the city together with my fiance as he was here for a AALL law conference for 3 days. After checkout, we were going to leave our luggages at the hotel and see the monuments and museums. After this hostile approach by the receptionist we were afraid to leave our luggages there. ...

Incredible!
I was so glad to find this hotel, me and my mom checked out from not-so-clean-hotel and decided to transfer to a better hotel. Little that I know that Morisson hotel is not just good but best!!! I am so impressed! My mom and I had a great stay in this hotel, when we first came in, the front desk Vanessa and Tola gave us a very warm welcome, they are very friendly and helpful. They gave us map for the restaurants and all the tourist spots, they will also tell you their own recommendations etc. They are so nice! And to the old guy (sorry I forgot his name) that carried our bags to the hotel room is very kind! I have no regrets staying here. And the location is the best! Its walking distance to many attractions. But since my mom is already old, and I dont want her to feel tired, we just had a lyft ride to the museums. And its not expensive! $5-8. I really recommend this hotel, the rooms are clean and tidy, I love the white linens! It was all clean!! The bathroom is really nice. My mom is very happy!! If I can upload her video in the reviews I will show you how happy she was. And oh the hotel restaurant is also amazing! The food and service is incredible! I like Mary, she is very accomodating and kind. I would love to stay again in Morisson Clark

Great hotel for the price with even greater view
Upon arrival I noticed the hotel was situated right in the mist of downtown which was great. There was an excellent burger shop "Busboy Burgers" located right across the street. As I was walking in the hotel staff opened both doors for me which was great because I had my hands full w my suitcase and laptop case. Check in was a breeze. I had paid in advance so all the clerk had to do was have me confirm some things and I was off. I stayed on the 3rd floor. Once I stopped off the elevator all the doors were painted yellow(not sure if other floors had different door colors) but it had a very home-ey feel. The doors had newer card locking mechanism. As you didnt have to swipe it inside of a card reader but rather had to wave it in front which I found more conveincent(sp) because those card readers where so wonky. The room was way better than I expected. It was small but not so small that I felt I had no space. There was a desk, bed, end table w complimentary water, and closet w mini bar. They had a newer AC unit which was great as I like to sleep w the AC on. what was most impressive was the bathroom. BEAUTIFUL. It just looked very expensive and up to date. As I said earlier the hotel was located downtown and very close to alot of stores and eateries. I was in town for a retreat and needed a yoga mat and one quick google search I found a walgreens .4miles away. All in all this was a great hotel for the price. You wont be disappointed!!!!

Overall spectacular
This is an excellent hotel. I highly recommend it. It's historic, it's beautiful, it's clean, it's very new appearing, it's in an excellent location, and overall a very superb place. Why then do I give it 4 out of 5, you ask? I had a couple of issues (one was resolved, one was met with a nonchalant attitude). The first day I got there, the room was 57F despite a thermostat setting of 72F. The hotel fixed it quickly within 1 hour of me notifying them which was fantastic and the engineers who came by were great (still would have rated 5/5). Unfortunately, the next day, the room was 86F by 8am when I left. The A/C had clearly malfunctioned in the evening or overnight. I brought it up to the desk staff at check out and it was met with a curt apology and a nonchalant "I'll let our engineers know," which is not quite the bar of excellence in recognizing and understanding a client's problem, especially at a luxury hotel like this one. So, 4/5. Had I stayed another night, I have no doubt it would have been taken care of quickly. To be clear, I still highly recommend this hotel. However, I believe if a place is to improve, then actions have to have consequences and -- in this case -- the consequence is getting 4/5. I would still stay here next time as it is overall a high quality place.

Lovely Hotel Near Conference
This is a very nice hotel and a welcome change from the larger conference hotels. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The property was very clean and in good shape, though starting to show some age. Room was comfortable if a bit small. The staff were helpful and courteous. Price was very reasonable for the DC area. Hotel is located 3-4 blocks from Metro stops. It was a real joy to go down each morning and be immediately seated and served a quiet breakfast rather than waiting for a crowded table at the conference hotel. There were a few minor issues: - Room was small, wish we had booked a suite. - Internet was spotty. It always worked, but would occasionally slow to a crawl. - Sirens outside (and there were a lot) could be heard clearly even with the windows closed. Fortunately, they were infrequent during sleeping hours - Staff seemed distracted during check-in. Everyone else was almost too attentive. That said, this was a real find and we’ll stay here again if we’re back in the area
