Exceptional 10.0
We had a mini vacation with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. After reading the information available on the Expedia website, we chose to stay at this Comfort Inn. It was a most excellent choice. As it turned out, two of the days we were there happened to be extremely cold and windy. So we were particularly happy that our rooms were accessibly from the lobby. No need to go back outside, get in our car and drive to our room for parking. The parking was so convenient. Our checkin experience was smooth. They were having a little computer trouble and were apologetic for the slowness of the system. But I told them "hey, we're on vacation and not in a rush." So after you pass the check-in area, there is a room that doubles as a dining area/living room type of area. And it has a huge fireplace. And the entire area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The fireplace was a welcome addition because of the weather outside. Several people congregated there to relax, enjoy a warm beverage and visit. The breakfast is included so in the mornings, our grandkids just went there in the pajamas and it was perfectly ok. It was very lodge-like, homey and welcoming. When we were looking for a place to eat dinner one evening, the staff enthusiastically got out a map and shared their suggestions and directions with us. Our room was perfect! On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate the breakfast as a 8. But everything else I'd rate as a definite 15+.

Floors are very thin!
It took forever to check in the hotel when we arrived after driving all day. There was already a line of people trying to check in prior to our arrival. The girl that checked us in was extremely nice. However, when we finally got in our room after eating dinner this is where it went down hill. Our room was located on the 1st Floor and as soon as our heads hit the pillow whoever was in the room above failed to remember they may have people staying directly under them. For several hours it sounded as if they may come through the floor and end up in our bed as well. We finally contacted the front desk and asked them to do something, which the stomping and jumping continued and they finally went bed because it finally stopped. It was a good thing we got up early to leave again, because the stomping and jumping continued right at 6:45am. **Recommendation - if you know there are kids in a family especially small ones - put them on the bottom floor and not inconvenience other guests that are traveling and need sleep. Oh and I have no plans of getting out of bed in my PJ's and walking down to the desk to "discuss options" when I call to make a complaint on the above room, but I appreciate the thought on that!

Fair 4.0
Non-smoking rooms? Not quite as advertised
There were a lot of options when booking and we based our decision for the most part on the rating and reviews that this hotel received at The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast however the main issue we had was with the room. Check in was very quick and we got right into our room without any problems. Upon opening of the room door there was a strong odor of cigarette smoke permeating throughout the entire room. My wife, son, and myself have asthma and allergies to smoke of any kind. In addition, we did not want to subject our 3 year old daughter to it so my wife went downstairs and requested a new room. The staff was accommodating and they had rooms available so they moved us to a new room directly across from our first room. We then moved everything over into this new room that at first did not smell as bad probably because we already had the stench in our noses. Since we were only staying there for 2 nights and would be out of the room for the majority of the stay we decided to just live with it. My wife was unable to sleep both nights despite the 3 air fresheners that we bought for the room. All in all I would not recommend this room if you are in any way sensitive to smoke. Oh and we found out later that the non-smoking rooms had been "converted" from smoking rooms at some point which makes sense.

Excellent Stay
This might be my new favorite hotel in Flagstaff, I usually stay at the more modern Comfort Inn & Suites. This location is very homey, fresh and clean and easily accessible from the main road. The rooms are nice and cozy, the bed was very comfortable with a good selection of soft and firm pillows. The bathroom was a good size with all the typical amenities, the room also including a refrigerator, a microwave oven and a coffee maker with a good selection of coffee. The hot breakfast was very good, serving scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, bread, bagles and english muffins and of course, the ever-popular waffle maker. On the lighter side they had various cold cereal options, fresh fruit and yogurt. I will definitely stay at this location and other Comfort Inn & Suites in the future. One last note, the night clerk was very nice, professional and helpful with a local restaurant recommendation.

Poor 2.0
I will rate them amongst the worst in terms of Cleanness for they don't change the bedding after they have been used. I stayed there with my family for five days, which according to their own guide lines they are supposed to change sheets after 3 days but they didn't so I had to change the sheets late in the night myself. So when you go there make sure to ask if the bedding have been changed to avoid going through what we encountered. The food was not very appealing either. Overall to me I will give the an F (fail) The worst of all even after reporting, the management didn't have even the courtesy of even apologising for the bad service give to US.
