Wonderful hotel with excellent front of house staff. Small glitch at the start which was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Rooms were contemporary, clean and comfortable, staff were extremely helpful and accommodated any and all requests -would stay again

The hotel was an older type hotel quite dark in the rooms . The issue I had was with the breakfas service which was frankly an embarrassment. There was long waits of over 25 minutes for the bacon and egg serving dishes to be refiled as they had run out. You had to ask for tea and coffee to be served . There did not seem to be enough staff on duty . The fraught beers were not working no one seemed bothered. A bit of a let down I would say did not present the British hospitality service in the best light

Small but grand
Really good location and perfect for our trip to Buckingham Palace for a function. Only let down was the size of the room, which was quite small but I guess that's how it is in central London. Would recommend and would definitely stay again!

Location Good. Hotel disappointing!
The location of the hotel is ideal as a hub to explore London. It has an impressive foyer but this is almost a facade as it does not reflect the real hotel. The hotel is rated as 4-star but struggles to achieve 3-star. The room was nothing like the photo on the hotel website. It was clean but very tired. It was small, only one chair and the TV was on the table in front of the mirror. To plug in the kettle it was necessary to physically move the table. On day one there were two flannels and a bar of soap on the following days no flannels and no soap. The breakfast was an adventure starting with queuing for a table - this took time as table clearing was not efficient. The food was good but with limited selection - only scrambled eggs of questionable texture, no boiled or fried. Only on the third day fresh tomatoes were served. Finally there is no mention of the entrance being steps which can only be negotiated with difficulty if one needs a walking stick.

Had the standard room for one night and was impressed at the size, especially if you've experienced the average central London room. Luxurious surroundings and fun trying to find the "secret" door in Victoria station into the hotel lobby (so one doesn't need to mix with riff raff). Could have done with more pillows, the TV was rubbish, but the bed was huge.
