    Nothing special
I picked this hotel due to its customer rating, which I definitely wouldn’t rate as highly. Upon getting to my room it smelt of cigarette smoke. Once I contacted reception they were happy to move me but I don’t understand how whoever cleaned it couldn’t have smelt the smoke. I was moved from a single queen room to a double queen room as apparently that’s all they had available, which seems unlikely considering the size of the hotel. The twin room I was put in had a joining door to the next room. Either the walls were very thin or this door did little to stop noise, I could hear every word from the people next door. Room service was quick and easy to order and be delivered, but the food was very average. I paid a supplement to have a breakfast dish off the menu. This was poached eggs on toast with avocado. Not sure how it’s possible to muck this up but it was terrible. The avocado wasn’t properly ripe and the eggs tasted of vinegar. The hotel is also right next to the motorway, I could hear the traffic throughout the night. The hotel did have some good points, breakfast staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast not bad. The gym and pool facilities very good and quiet. If you want to use the pool take a pound coin for the lockers. To summarise though, I have stayed in several hotels in Glasgow for similar prices that are much nicer.

    Hilton Glasgow William street.
Love this hotel & stay here 2 or 3 times a year. Lately however beds have become VERY worn & uncomfortable - both my husband & myself waking in the night sore & uncomfortable, and next day waking with stiff bones - not whats expected from Hilton at this establishment. Have contacted hotel & they've said new mattresses are on the plan for replacement. Considered switching to Marriot 'Sweet Sleeper' beds.

    Good and bad!
I’ve stayed numerous times at this Hilton and it’s always been good. This time was more disappointing. The room and bathroom on 5th floor room were tired looking. It was extremely dark which made getting ready for our concert difficult as it was hard to see to apply make up, the room was also VERY cold on arrival. We turned up what looked like was the heating but returned to a freezing cold room again. A staff member came and said he wasn’t sure but thought it was set for air con rather than heat so we had turned up the aircon. He did change it to heat setting which worked but he again stated he wasn’t sure if it was right: thankfully it was but this was 1am and we all slept in extra clothes over PJs. Would be handy to arrive to heat in the room during winter instead of aircon as it was 3 degrees outside. And also would be good to have clear instructions showing one setting is for heat and one for aircon as it was far from obvious. The room service 11pm to 7am menu was inedible. We ordered 2 pizzas that we couldn’t eat because they were so bad and the hot chocolate was a pot with powdered hot chocolate and water. Really bad as they have machine hot chocolate which is great and what I thought I was ordering. £37 for items we couldn’t eat or drink! On a positive not however, the staff were all very nice and breakfast was great and it’s brill that it goes on until 11am so there is no need to rush in the morning. I’m not sure it would be my first choice to return to again!
