Good hotel in middle of Little Tokyo, with obvious Japanese influences. Convenient for Union Station

Good hotel but WiFi could be improved
Overall the hotel was good. It's located in the heart of Little Tokyo and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. My only complain is the WiFi, it was extremely poor. Other hotels with free WiFi offer a much better connection. If you need to work there might be better alternatives.

An interesting stay.
The facade, lobby and interior hallways of the hotel look very modern and up to date. My room, at least, seemed dated and a little tired. Old carpet, old bathroom tile. The hotel has a restaurant on the 2nd floor. I ordered room service from it twice, and each time the food was excellent and delivered within 30 minutes. However, due to the restaurant being in the hotel, the rooms had the smell of tempura/cooking oil and it made my clothes smell like it. Also the fitness center was under renovation during my stay, so I could not use it, which was a big negative for me. The bed was comfortable, but not Westin comfortable. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. This hotel is a mixed bag. They are working hard to renovate it and bring it up to date, but its not quite there yet.

Charming place.
The hotel is on the edge of little Tokyo and is close walking distance to Union Station, the art district and pretty much the entire downtown area. There are a bunch of great sushi and raman restaurants on the same street as the hotel. I have stayed here a couple of times on business due to the location. But, I really like the place and will choose it for personal stays when I am in the area.
