Pleasant stay at Callaway
Very pleasant surroundings and plenty to do. Staff were very helpful. We ate at various venues and all were good. Room was large and clean but the air conditioning was a noisy beast. Cold enough but noisy.

Be aware of which "Resort" location you are booking. I feel the description on the resort was misleading and the location was not on Callaway property, it was a few miles away. The name of this establishment was Mountain Creek Inn, so at first we went to the actual Callaway Resort and Spa only to be told we booked at the other "Resort" (that was embarrassing). Also, we were supposed to get a courtyard view, the only view we saw were rooftops and overgrowth. I will say the room was clean and has been updated since the Inn was probably built in the 1960's. It appears that the Callaway Resort purchased this Inn and uses it to book lower end rooms. Nowhere on my reservation did it say anything about the name Mountain Creek Inn, so really we were just surprised. Not sure if this is a booking mishap or with Callaway Gardens. I doubt we will stay here again.

Point of No Return
I didn't enjoy my stay at Callaway Gardens at all. First of all, I had a VERY HARD time checking in because I booked through I was told that I needed to pay onsite as my room hadn't been prepaid. After an hour wait, 3 calls & a hang up from I was finally able to check in. I was told that the problem was that the initial Expedia Virtual Card provided by for the room purchase was declined. During this fiasco, I also found out that my room was only $98 but I paid $130 through The MOTEL room very stuffy, outdated, had a horrible view & was very disappointing not worth $50. The grounds were okay but deserted with very limited on-site activities. Obviously it was the wrong time of year to visit because it was like a ghost town onsite & in the local area. Once we got back to the room & cut on the heater to knock off the chill, water started to drip from a VERY LARGE vent that hung directly over the bathroom sink area. Every time we used the sink drops of water would drip on us & by morning there was a puddle of water on the floor. The room outlets weren't easily accessible as they were barricaded behind beds & furniture. Also, whenever water was used in the adjacent rooms we could hear it running loudly through the pipes in the walls.I felt like I was staying in the Bates Motel & just prayed we made it through the night. We were disappointed again by the FREE breakfast of waffles, boiled eggs, & fruit so we left early never to return!

I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone unless you’re interested in being in the middle of nowhere in Georgia. There’s nothing to do, nowhere to eat except for overpriced restaurants at the hotel. I attended a work conference there recently of which they were not equipped for, and made a ton of mistakes. Multiple people were given room keys for rooms that were already occupied, the food was mediocre at best, they were not sensitive to individuals with dietary needs such as: celiac disease. They have one hotel that’s much nicer than the rest, and everyone else gets stuck in a motel like location almost ten minutes away by car. The nearest sign of civilization is 35 mins away in Columbus, GA unless you’d like to drive about an hour and a half to Atlanta. Never staying at this place again.
