horse racing visit
We know Dublin well and have stayed in other hotels. The Davenport is excellent value for money, well situated for walking around Dublin or using local transport (buses or DART). All the staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. Good breakfast, we didn't eat in the hotel as we had made arrangements with Irish friends to meet up. Easy access to bus for racing. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good standard at reasonable price.

Unfortunately I left my bag on the airport bus. The staff- especially DANILO- were most helpful in finding it again.

Nice standard of hotel - decent size bedrooms
Nice hotel - in good location without noise outside at all hours - nice gardens adjacent to side of hotel and a 10 min stroll into town

Could be better!
Lovely welcome at the hotel. It was my birthday, so my friendand I decided to treat ourselves to breakfast in the room. It was brought in for us but...... the waiter said that 'you guys ordered a lot of food' . As 2 females, we thought this was quite cheeky!! It was a nice breakfast, but there was no option of toast or any kind of bread on the menu. In the bathroom, there were black hair's on the tiles. The carpet was torn along the skirting board. The maids didn't even rinse our glasses or cups and there was still dirt on the carpet. Been in much cheaper hotels and had better housekeeping. Oh and the heating took forever to warm up. Room was chilly when we got in later that day.
