parking problemate
Our complaint is the parking lot is tooo far from the hotel. 3+ blocks. The small lobby is not good for just relaxing. Our 3rd floor room faced the street and the manhole steel cover on the cement street below made a loud noise every time a car passed. Was heard all night. These are my only complaints

Low cost but Great Vacation Spot
Old Hotel but kept up well. We did have very small bugs coming down the wall in the bathroom that got into the towels but they did not bite or sting and upon telling the maintenance man the problem was solved by the time we came back from breakfast. There was a dropped ceiling in the bathroom and they sprayed the area up there. The town of Merida not only has the best food I have ever had in 70 years but also the most reasonably priced. The people were very friendly and there were many free or inexpensive things to do. Except for gaining weight itwas a wonderful place to go.

Comfortable and good value
While I think we were in the 'old' section of the hotel, it wasn't nearly as bad as some reviews I'd read had made out! Room was a little bit dark and gloomy, but the beds were really comfortable with great pillows, the shower was decent and the hotel is really well located. I imagine the newer refurbished rooms are great, for the price. I'd go back.
