Try somewhere else, it will be better value
The check in staff and front desk staff were not helpful or courteous. Check in and service by them was slow. They did not inform us of the fact they could not fulfill the deluxe room I had booked. They did move me for the last 3 nights and subtract $30 plus taxes from my bill. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room which is a negative. House cleaning staff were friendly and efficient. Internet was efficient. Overall row NYC is very central but the service is not worth the 4* out of 5 that gave it. If you needed any help in New York it information the staff are not helpful and the in hotel store is geared to be the highest price you will pay. Even on checkout there were no instructions for the express checkout and the screens were not completing the checkout and instructing people to queue. A sign on the monitors just to tell people to drop keys in the box would have sped the whole process up. When we approached staff the concierge told us it wasn’t her job, we had to ask her Who to speak to as working there she could at least point us in the right direction. After two other staff we spoke to about the same issue of checking out, we managed to get an answer. I know most people spend very little time in their hotel room in New York but when you do you expect to feel more looked after (or even just helped and smiled at) and able to get a coffee at any time in your room for $300+ a night!

I would stay somewhere else
I checked into the hotel on the Saturday my partner flew in on the Sunday and she said staff were very unfriendly because she got in early no one seemed to want to help, luckily another guest explained the elevator situation (lifts don’t fit many inside and you press the floor before you get in, strange at first but was explained to me but morning staff didn’t want to explain to her) Hotel was booked pretty late so had a lack of options so opted for this hotel for some reason their ‘city tax and fascilites’ seem to be so much more expensive compared to other hotels around the same price for stay but wasn’t the best feeling having to pay when leaving. Hotel Across the street that my mother stayed in for same length of time was only $50, this hotel $234.50 The most annoying and rude people were the people who probably have the easiest job in the entire hotel (bell boys). After being told to take my water bottle out my suitcase (incase it spills all over my stuff). I did come back a few hours later to get my phone charger. One of them said “ you can not just come back and forward to your bag, you have to take it now” I refused as I don’t see the issue and only needed a charger. Don’t know if this is a genuine hotel policy or just he was having a bad day but the rudeness of staff in general has made me actually want to review something for once as it’s not exactly cheap to stay here.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at
This is by far the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and I've been in numerous hotels around the world. Here are the reasons why: 1. They charge a flat rate of $11 USD for every package that is delivered for you. For heavier packages it's $25 USD and up. They also charge an extra $5 USD for every day after 3 days that they have the package in storage. The package room also closes at 8PM every day, so if you are out the entire day and go for dinner in the evening for example, you can't get the package until the next day. 2. My friend and I did an early check in at around noon, but they told us we could only get our room keys at 4PM, which was fine. That afternoon I had a work emergency and I had to fly out. My friend wanted to continue with the stay, so she went to get the room keys herself. The hotel staff would not let her get the room keys because the reservation was under my name, even if I had personally checked in myself earlier. I had to call the manager overseas at midnight to get them to allow my friend to get the keys. 3. The lobby restrooms are only accessible for guests with keycards. I had just checked in and had no keycards yet since I could only get them at 4PM. I had to go to the bartender to borrow his keycard, just to use the restroom, even if I was a checked-in guest.

We thought we had enjoyed a pleasant stay at The Row, only to find they had charged us an extra 209 USD in fees we were not expecting. When we enquired as to the reason for these charges we were directed to the small print half way down our confirmation email which stated there would be an additional charge for amenities such as Wi-Fi, bottled water and access to the fitness and business suites. It stated that this charge would be applied 'if not included in the room rate', but with no information as to whether it had been included in the rate or not. To make matters much worse we didn't actually receive most of these facilities. In place of bottled water we were given plastic cups to fill from the tap, we were clearly told the WiFi was free when booking through Expedia, and we weren't even informed of the business suite during our stay. So it seems we paid over 200 USD for a fitness suite we never had any intention of using. If we had at least been told of these charges up front then we would obviously have stayed somewhere else. When this was pointed out to the staff subsequently they have been very unhelpful. They have directed us to Expedia to ask them to make the charges more clear on their website, but have failed to acknowledge the fact that they didn't actually supply the majority of amenities we were charged for. Be aware that you will be charged a lot more than you initially expect for this hotel, and in our experience will not receive good customer service

The room I was initially given was not the cleanest but I would have just dealt with it as I was only staying for one night. However, then I saw a bed bug as I was about to turn in. It was late, and I couldn't reach the front desk on the phone, so I got dressed and went downstairs. The woman at the front desk at first was pretty rude. She asked me if I brought the bed bug to show her as proof! After talking with her manager, they switched my room and apparently it was a free "upgrade." The next room was a bit bigger but not sure if I'd call it an upgrade. However, no sign of bed bugs so I finally went to sleep. The next day at check out I told the front desk how awful my stay was. There was no offer to do anything about it. I had to ask to have the "resort fee" cancelled because are you kidding me? They did oblige to that request but I paid full price for the room. This is not a clean hotel and some rooms may be infested with bed bugs...the staff seems to be pretty indifferent to this state of affairs.
