Treasure Island
Doesn't look anything special from the outside but the Granville Island Hotel ticks all the boxes when it comes to comfort, location and (if you have a balcony room overlooking the creek), beautiful waterside view - a fine thing to wake up, draw the curtains and see the boats bobbing up and down outside your room. King size bed was indeed huge and very comfortable, tea and coffee machine worked fine, as did the shower, cable TV had a decent selection of channels but we didn't really take advantage of that. Supposed to have an iPod link to the alarm clock but not on the model we had. Minibar was adequate for storing our own beers and wines, the presence of an ice machine down the corridor was much appreciated by Mrs C, while even further down the same corridor was a decent hot tub and sauna (yeah, like I'm going to review the exercise bikes and row machine...) Being based on the Island means you get first dibs on the quirky craft shops and the awesome Food Market, which is a true treat for the senses. Don't miss the Granville Island Brewery which is excellent for beers and snacks, very good value both in the bar area and the shop (although annoyingly, like many places on the Island, it does close early, usually 8pm. A Tuesday evening comedy show persuaded them to stay open to the dizzy hour of 10pm, mind...). Can also recommend the organic bakery and the Vancouver Fish Company, good for food and a late nightcap. Aquaferry and No 50 bus make getting around a piece of cake.

Great location for a little holiday
Lovely hotel, great location. Every morning we were able to walk to the market before the tourists and locals- excellent for food, coffee and snacks. The little ferry boats were only a few minutes walk away and a great way to get around the city. The hotel also rent bikes but we decided to hire a tandem from a local bike rental shop. Lots of fun!! The bedroom was comfortable, there was a little outside seating area- perfect size for a couple but not for a family. The bathroom was a bit dated. Otherwise the jacuzzi and hotel staff were great!

Great hotel in a great location
A rare combination of a fine hotel in a redeveloped semi-industrial neighbourhood now chic with theatres, art locations, individual shops, great restaurants and above all the vibrant Granville Market. And....located right on the False Creek Waterfront overlooking the downtown City.

Great Hotel in the heart of Vancouver
Great Hotel in the heart of Vancouver with market nearby and nice views over the harbour area. I also enjoyed the breakfast one day (other days it was better to go to the market).

Great central Vancouver hotel
I really enjoyed this hotel as it was different and yet still well located in Vancouver
