Nice place, shame about the breakfast!
We stayed at the Sonora Inn en route from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park. It is an historic inn as such the rooms are not particularly spacious. However, they are clean and comfortable. The inn is located on the main street which is pretty. There are a few bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away (Diamondback Grill was brilliant - half price wine on Tuesdays!!). There was a rooftop pool which was refreshingly cool. However, the breakfast was something else. A doughnut box had a half eaten doughnut left inside (mmmm, appetizing!), and the Danish pastries were shrink wrapped and as heavy as a brick. Overall, this is a perfect stop off place - we slept well, and it was quiet, but maybe skip breakfast, and find somewhere in town to set you up for the next part of your trip.

I feel I was overcharged for this room It was sunday night they gave me the printout 71.24 I was billed 89.53. It was very noisy Motorcylcles were loud and we were upstairs on the street side. It was noisy in the early morning too. The location was good, the people were nice and the hospitality room was good. I could have used another blanket on the bed as there was only one.

Old, but Good.
It’s an old hotel, but that’s part of the charm. We went there knowing it was older and not expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised. The staff were helpful and extremely friendly. The continental breakfast was decent, we easily found parking every day, and the location is great if you’re visiting gold country. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
