very relaxing experience. staff couldn't do enough for you rooms spotless. we even got a room upgraded because it was our anniversary. food was amazing, drinks kept coming and smiling faces. I would highly recommend this hotel, me and my husband love this hotel, we have stayed about 4 times now. its like a home from home.

Inappropriate room
Needed to make a last minute booking. Hotel phone lines were down so did the booking online choosing a "classic" room for 2 people, but adding that we needed a fully accessible room as my partner is a wheelchair user. When confirmation came through, the room had 2 single beds. As it was too late to cancel and we couldn't contact the hotel, we drove the 150 miles hoping to sort at check in. The guy at reception, whilst friendly, didn't really seem to take on board the requirements we needed due to my partners disability and I had to keep reminding him that the room needed to be fully accessible. When we got to our room (had to go outside the hotel to come back in as the wheelchair lift was broken), we found that the room was very small, hardly enough room to move the chair and the doorway to the bathroom was too narrow for a wheelchair to pass through rendering the bathroom totally unusable for my partner. We were both tired and as it was only for one night, we decided we would work around the problems. When we checked out, the lady on reception asked about our stay and we told her of the issues we had. She accepted that the room was totally inappropriate and a different room should have been given to us. She made some adjustments to the invoice, but I feel with a group as large as Accor, customer service should be paramount and the staff should be emphatic to the needs of all their customers, and the discomfort my partner suffered shouldn't have happened.

Very Good8.0
Family trip to Mercure Maidstone
Hotel is v tired - certainly the room and break-out areas were. Our room was not made up on second day - clean towels left outside the door which I don't expect for a 4 star hotel. The pool was good and v clean but very cold!
