About Belmond La Samanna

For couples looking for that secluded getaway, the romantic La Samanna beachfront resort on the French side of St. Martin presents an ideal Caribbean destination enveloped by 55 acres of gardens full of flowering bushes, hedges and bougainvillea, with cliff-top views of the turquoise sea. Beach umbrellas and lounge chairs await on the resort's private, white sand beach.

Property Features.
At this Mediterranean-style resort, ranked in 2004 by Travel & Leisure 500 as one of the top 10 Caribbean hotels, guests wanting outdoor activities can ski, kayak, surf, sail, snorkel, play tennis on the outdoor courts, and day-trip to nearby islands. Couples can rent the resort's 37-foot powerboat for romantic sunset cruises, and sample the vibrant restaurants, clubs and shops of Marigot, the capital of the French side, and Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch side. At this resort, a hillside pool with sundeck and bar supplies swimming to the sound of a gentle 3-tier waterfall. Nearby, in a tropical atmosphere set by terra-cotta tile floors, rattan chairs and sea views, Trellis restaurant provides mouth-watering cuisine and a 10,000-bottle wine cellar. Room service is available 24 hours a day. Guests can relax at La Samanna Spa, with aromatic oil and shiatsu massages, French body polishes, salt glows, "sunburn rescues," and a fitness center. Babysitting services are also available for a surcharge.

83 air-conditioned guestrooms provide an informal Caribbean ambience accentuated by cream-colored walls, tropical-color fabrics, terra-cotta tile floors, fresh flowers, and mahogany and rattan furniture. Amenities include satellite TVs, DVD players, complimentary videos, private terraces or patios, ceiling fans, safes and L'Occitane bath amenities.

Restorative...exactly what I needed to unplug from a hectic life for a respite. Excellent service, attentive but not intrusive. Quality but not pretentious or trendy, full of charm and class

nice location, great beach and rooms were very nice and comfortable. Food was good as well. A bit on the pricey side but good over all and would stay again if I go back.

Amazing room on beach
Wonderful, relaxing, beachfront room with comfortable king bed. We spent all our time on the beach, but the two pools looked lovely. Well maintained, quiet surroundings with no loud kids or people at all. Front desk staff was excellent. We had snacks but not dinner and it was okay. My one complaint is the food and drink were crazy overpriced. I realize it's vacation, but $18 for a cocktail is gouging. There is a market down the road so you can buy your own for the room instead. Other than that, we plan on coming back. Great place.

good stay. Very nice people. Not worth $1500 a night though. For that price you expect spectacular.
